I bet Abhirami must have had a great inner personality to look like Mother Theresa in her advanced age. If ever I am compared to Mother Theresa by anybody, that will be the most proud moment in my life because hers is gracefulness par excellence.
Perhaps you watch the Tamil Movies (very old ones) now shown on TV every night at 10.30 PM. The heroine of last night’s movie was looking like a luscious Kashmir Apple in that, whereas now she looks “grotesque” !
You very rightly said
Our mind has the great capacity of making an amalgam of all memories over a period of time in such a manner that all memories, sweet and painful, just leave a smile on the face. The longer the efflux of time, the stronger will be the smile!
I did have my share of small tiffs with my Mil initially; but finally over the years, they got totally wiped off from my memory and all that I remember now is her love whenever I think of her.
Wheher fact diffuses memory or viceversa, it is good for our own interaction with the same people, as we move along in life!
I have a doubt who Kumar is? - You??
Or did a squirrel play cupid in your life ever?

Love,
Chithra.
Dear Chithra
This is one wish of every aging woman to be compared with Mother Teresa that is granted readily at least physically. It is like being an imitation of Kohinoor. The grace of Mother Teresa was not generated by her wrinkles but by her Inner Glow. I am sure that you have jumped half the well in resembling Mother Teresa. Keep at it and you might clear the other half too with all your spiritual discourses in IL!

Let us remember one simple fact of life. Everyone knows beauty is skin deep and is highly transitory. As the beauty of the surface disappears slowly, it should be replaced by the beauty of the soul. Like the setting sun getting replaced by the greater splendour of a star studded sky.

All memories are meant to bring a smile on our face and that is the beauty of memories. This is possible only when we have a strong mind that can soften and level out the various incidents of our life as they settle down as memories.

Kumar can be anybody. And the jolt of reality can be mutual too. That is why some people refuse to face reality because they are too fragile to face jolts!

You and chithu (in her blog) have kindled the nostalgic feeling in all of us!
Dear Aishu
What you say is very true that we have more responsibilities and duties now that may stand in the way of our journey into the past. But remember that what we do now will be memory tomorrow and if you want all your memories to be sweet, ensure that your encounters with the present are sweet too.
Thank you, Aishu, for proving that the romance of memories is universal and transcends age and sex!

Anyway it was post on lighter vein that i am still smiling and already getting lost in my childhood and youthful memories! Wonderful way to spend the day!
Dear Sudha
I ought to have mentioned in my leader post the possibility of a similar feeling of relief engulfing Abhirami too! This is what perhaps people mean when they say, 'All is well that ends well'! I must tell you that both Kumar and Abhirami are supremely happy about their providential escape!

And that brings me to another aspect. If Laila and Majnu or for that matter Romeo and Juliet got married and produced a dozen children each and died of Parkinson's, would they have become as legendary?

Dear Sudha and Chithra
The best time to start taking up Gita and the like is when the first symptoms of Arthritis become manifest. Mind becomes more agile as we start getting physically cramped!
Dont get tempted to try 'Break dance' and such complicated gyrations now. You may need external help to disentagle yourself physically!

Dear Cheeniya sir,

Seeing the title, i thought you are going to bring to light some of your affairs and here iam reading as Kumar ..........doubt who is he?

I think this week has started with ilites deciding to go down the memory lane, in blogs you find Chitra mami and her college, AC and tenali rama and now sir it is you and Kumar's affair.

Jokes apart a really good write up. I agree with you memories are always sweet that too of youth and their affairs. I liked the reply you have given to chitra mami abt Mother Teresa

I agree with you that as the age advances, the inner glow should start reflecting. Whatever and however we pamper our skin in our young age, as one starts ageing, it ought to show. Beauty does not lie in having a flawless skin but a flawless mind.

That is a great sum up. A mind that harbours sick thoughts can wreck the skin a lot more than all these expensive marvel creams and lotions. No such external aids will be necessary to retain a glow on our skin if we master the technique of internal illumination.

I have had several meetings with Yogi Ram Surat Kumar of Tiruvannamalai. I used to wonder if he ever took bath looking at unchanged attire and matted hair but he always looked fresh and smelt sweet as if he had just had a bath in some perfumed lotion. That is the power of Inner Glow for you!

Dear Lalitha
Kumar can be anybody, even me! Who doesn't fall in love at least once in his life time?!! I have known people who fall in and out of love with the regularity of sunrise and sunset! "Kaadal indrel saadal" (Love or perish!) said the Poet Bharathi. Amen!

Dear Cheeniya,

Have been watching the sun tv late night classics. Last night in Uyarntha manithan, one side heroine tells to Sowcar Janaki, something similar abt Ambikapathi , and who would have remembered them if their was successful an they got married normally and had children!?

And that brings me to another aspect. If Laila and Majnu or for that matter Romeo and Juliet got married and produced a dozen children each and died of Parkinson's, would they have become as legendary?"
just wanted to mention that here.......i am thoroughly enjoying these movies, though it is pretty late in the night! Another aspect to suggest that i am getting Old, not able to Move and reminiscing maybe!

Dear Sudha,
Remember, just like you, I am also watching them.
In my younger I never went to all these movies because V is always "anti-cinema".
Now, I am enjoying them in the comfort of my own house & that too without, the distraction of advts.
But it is from 10.30 PM to 1 or 1.30AM. So, i feel like going in for a second course of light dinner around 11.30!
Love,
Chithra.
