Wink Share your BEST and WORST experience happened during your Bridal make up

Dear All,

When it comes to bridal make up we pay more attention to it than any other things. And we are more conscious about it. Most of us wish to look like an angel for the Big Day in our life. So we do lot of researches right from selecting hair style to lipsticks for the better appearance.

In 1980's we dont have much facilities for Bridal makeup. In 1990's it started to boom. In 2000's we have all the facilities. We have parlours like Green trends, Naturals and lot more to do their best in the industries.

So Dear IL'ites,
Go back to your Golden Memories and share your experience here. This will be quite useful to all our IL friends who are expecting their Big day . We can learn from the mistakes too.....

and Share your BEST and WORST experience happened during your Bridal make up. Also Please mention your wedding dress and its color. Let's see which color wins the race.

Hi Shel...since I decided that wedding day makeup will be done by myself and saree draping etc by mom and cousins everything went on fine.
The worst experience i had was on my reception at DH's home. They had arranged for a beautician but havent said anything regarding this
to me,so I had my back up plans in case they haven't.The beautician came and since she wasnt informed the saree colour and any other things
other than to come and make me up she didnt carry any accessories with her.So at the last minute people had to rush for
bindi, golden thread and so on and in the hurry burry poor B cut her finger too.she had to spent an hour extra there.
So I think it was more worse for her than it was for me;)

for me the make was very neatly done... But the beautian have other appoinments on the same day, so she rushed me and did my muhurtham hair style in 10 mins ( usually it will take 30 mins as it was traditional style). Since ppl around me are busy for making arrangments in muhurtham, nobody was around me to give suggestion to the beautian to alter... When i happen to see my hair style , it looked like a artifical hair, though my original hair will look more good if she had done it properly... Moreover while draping the saree, she didnt tie it properly as she wants to leave the room, so that she can go...

But some how i managed my sweet mom corrected it in 5 mins... I told my mom, you could have done this instead of a beautian..

But the best experience is , for my reception (day before marriage) she did both hair style and make up very nicely...

Dear Ami,
Thank you for dropping in.
As you said I too prefer self make-up only.

From Ami's reply we learn: Pre-plan yourself and be comfortable when it comes to bridal make up, so that everything will go fine.

Hai shel,
During my wedding we planned to call a beautician.Atlast i quited.I told to my mom that i will do it myself.I bought nice make-up set from Abu Dhabi.I make-uped myself, even dressing & mehendi (i know 85%,i am not professionalist. My mom did hairstyle................

I weared red lehanga choli on my wedding.Everbody told i looked pretty.Video & photos came very nicely. My advice is better do the make-up somebody from the home. Many beauticians are making our face as too dull . After 4 or 5 hours we couldnot see our face due to dull make-up.

Please buy nice & expensive foundation, then make-up will look good.

Hi,

During my engagement i.e. few hours before reception my friends had tied my saree and did my make up as well. I had come out very well. Then in the evening was the reception and I had arranged for a beautician, she put the make up and I was looking darker than my colour and she the shades were given such that some one had pressed my face with iron on both the sides (lol). I was just looking ok...
Looking at this for the muhurtham my friends said no beautician and three of the my friends did it for me and it was a great job
cheers,
Maggie
