BRIDAL EYEBROW AND EYE MAKEUP:

On your special day you can easily make your eyes more noticeable and different from all others by doing the eye make up. This will definitely help you receive compliments from everyone. Here are some easy ways to get that distinguishing look.

Shape Your Eyebrows
  • While choosing the right color you should use either a brow powder or a gel in color 'one shade deeper than your natural hair color '. Doing so will keep your brows looking their best.
  • If you find that your brows are scant then you should try to lightly fill them in with the help of a brow pencil.
  • Use the pencil in a light neutral shade and then apply a brow powder and brush to give that perfect shape and to create a natural effect.
  • Make sure that you do not use heavy pencils or dark shadows to define your brows.
Eye Makeup
  • On this special occasion do not try to get too trendy with your eye makeup. But you should use flattering neutrals in order to contour and highlight your eyes.
  • While choosing the eyeliners, stick to the classic shades such as black, navy or brown.
  • You should get lush lashes by using an eyelash curler.
  • Then apply two coats of lengthening mascara. Always make sure that you allow the first coat to dry before you apply the second.
  • At the same time make sure that you do not overwhelm your lashes with too many coats of mascara because it may cause your eyes look clumpy.
  • The Waterproof mascara is always a better choice especially on this occasion. Because it is long lasting and it would not run even if you shed a few tears of joy or on departing from your loved ones.
  • For the eye makeup, on the occasion of wedding, you should keep deeper colors on the lids.
  • And you should use lighter shades on the brow bone.
  • In order to get that casual but polished look you should sweep one shade from lashes to the brow bone.
  • Another new trend in the field of eye makeup is the 'Eye gloss '. It helps in adding a sheer shine to the lids but you should not try it unless you are sure that you can carry it off otherwise it can look greasy and hence inappropriate.
  • The white, pink and yellow eyeliner pencils tend to make your eyes look open and brighter. Blue counteracts redness, and black will give you a sultry look.
  • In order to set your eyeliner you can use a matching eye shadow or powder liner.

BRIDAL FACE MAKEUP:

On the special day of wedding you are the main attraction and your face is the center of all. Therefore it becomes more important for you that you keep your skin looking dewy and as fresh as possible. You can add extra glow to your face by using a tinted moisturizer or moisture-balanced makeup.

  • Foundations with yellow undertones work best with flash photography.
  • Make sure that you do not get carried away with shimmer highlighters or light-refractive makeup. It is a problem with shimmers that in photographs it can easily turn into an unflattering and highly reflective shine.
  • You should use a bronzing powder in order to warm your skin tone. By using a natural bristle brush, you should lightly apply color to the areas of your face, which are likely to be exposed to sunlight such as forehead, cheeks and the bridge of the nose.
  • You can also apply a light dusting on your neck and chest in order to get all-over even color, if you feel the need. But make sure that you do this before putting on your dress.
  • Before your wedding you should try to avoid exposure to the sun, to the extent possible. Because the sunburns, peeling skin and tan lines can sabotage your special day.
  • On this special day you should give your foundation staying powder by using a gel foundation primer. Make sure that you apply the foundation before applying the makeup.
  • You can add a light dusting of loose powder to prevent any unwanted shine on your face.
  • You should not use a heavy pressed powder to set your foundation. But also keep in mind that too much powder can leave your skin looking chalky and lifeless in your wedding photos, which you certainly do not want to happen. Right!
  • You should choose a warm flattering cheek color preferably in a pinky peach or rose. When applying the color, you should focus the blush on the apples of your cheek and blend the excess back and up toward the hairline.
  • If you have oily skin then the powder blush is the perfect choice for you, but if you have dry skin then you should try a cream blush to achieve that dewy natural glow.
  • Make sure that you do not forget to wear blush on your special day as flash photography can leave you looking washed out.

Makeup Ideas For Bride

Make up prior to the marriage:

Make a routine of skin care, hair care and nail care from at least 6 weeks prior to the final day of wedding. Continue with facial, manicure and pedicure from the same time around.
Don’t go out much in the sun, even if you require going out for shopping then make it sure to use a good sun screen lotion with at least 20 SPF. Avoid extreme weather, such as, heavy rain, excessive heat or cold.

If your job anyhow involves you in stressful conditions, then take some time to relax, go for massaging, yoga or spa therapies.

Sleep well as it will rejuvenate you for the day to a great extent and will prevent ill elements such as black circles under the eyes to a great extent.

Book your make up schedule in the parlor at least 1-2 months prior to the wedding. You can also go for a trail session before the final make up.

Make up on wedding night:
  • You should always see to that the make up gels well with the attire and ornaments you have chosen for the wedding night. If they ought to be heavy, then the make up should be light. This is one of the essential bridal make up tips.
  • The season the wedding is scheduled to be is also important for the make up application. Bright pastel tints will go well during spring or summer, whereas, deep shades will be preferable during winter.
  • The wedding make up needs to be bit dramatic but still you must see that at any instance you should not be a make up doll.
  • As you need to be photographed a lot during wedding, so use yellow tint of foundation, as it helps you to look bright and pink shade on the other hand might make you look pale. Although it is better to go according to your complexion.
  • The lip liner should be of the same shade as of your lip stick. If the eye make up is heavy then the lip color should be light whereas for bright shaded lipstick, the eye make up should be at lighter end.
  • Apply the foundation evenly all over your neck, back of the ears, hands and to every exposed body part. This will give a balance in the skin texture and complexion.
  • Go for light dusting with a translucent powder, to prevent shining of the face too much. A warm shade of bronze will be nice and gaudy.
  • Always carry a tissue for quick touch ups.
Follow these simple tips for bridal make up and be the queen for the day.

Hello Shel,
I think it is really very informative post...
but, people like me who has zero knowledge abt make-up and colors/terms used.. have difficulty..
I am getting married next month..i am most concerned abt this make up..
I really have to trust the beautician...as i hv no idea even in suggesting them to do this..that.. etc..
I am totally very tensed abt this.. as I have very dark complexion and any change in the shades selectio wll totally spoil my look and mood..
i tried to convince my in-laws and parents of not having any make up.. but they really want me to have..

if you have any suggestion to instruct the beautician on my make up..it will be of great help..

like... in selecting the shades... suits my complexion...

Thanks again for good post
