Default Breastfeeding and tea

Riya has a cold. We have the humidifier on in her room and I've been putting saline drops and sucking the gunk out of her nose every now and then.

Seems like I am coming down with a cold too, grrrrr..... I always make tea with ginger, garlic, peppercorns and ajwain - all ground together boiled in water with a little bit of tea leaves, and then add honey and lemon to it. Is this okay to take while BFing?

I think yes, should be ok. None of those ingredients are contra-indictaed for BF moms, so should be ok. Hope you both feel better soon.

We had to meet with a lactation consultant as part of a class and she was telling us that you cannot affect the baby or your milk supply by what little you add to your foods and for most part they don't even get transferred to BM. She said that you transfer more when the baby is in the womb rather than when you BF. Hope you & Riya will feel better soon...
