Default Re: Please advise .. my baby's buttocks are becoming red

Hi DeepChiran,

My LO is 8weeks old, I use J&J's top to toe wash, which i find is a lot more milder than soap. But thats only 2times a day, only when we give a wash. I use a combo of cloth diapers and disposables. When LO is on cloth diapers, change them immedietly when they are wet. My DS too sleeps happily, even if he gets wet :) Not even a twist in his body... but you got to change them immedietly. Otherwise imagine, u sleeping in wet clothes, at this chill weather? Will you not catch cold? Never leave ur baby with wet cloth even for a min.
If you are on disposables, whenever you change, gently dry clean the area with a neat cloth, then apply nappy rash cream and you can just dab the powder puff (note down, not the powder, its just the puff without any visible layer of powder),so that the nappy area is dry.
Also, cloth diapers need to be rinsed thoroughly... dont use hard detergents to wash them, use mild ones...

My LO had rashes in the initial 1-2weeks, but from the time I started being careful on all these, he is doing fine :)
