This is what I used to do to clean bottles for my first son.I wash the bottles with normal dishwashing liquid using bottle brush.Then I rinse it with water 2-3 times.Then I put it in boiling water for a few minutes and sterilise it.This was an everyday process.

I do the same thing as sunitha wrote. also i prefer the palmolive soap liquid... if you don';t get that, try using the liquid which does not too much of fragrance of any kind( for example lime)

Hi,
I never used dish washing liquids for cleaning bottles. I washed 4 or 5 times with
hot water and cleaned with bottle cleaning brush, that`s all. But one thing, as soon
as the baby finished drinking I washed the bottles immediately.

Hi,

As many of you suggested, it is alright to add a drop of the dish liquid with warm water for cleaning the bottles. We just need to make sure that there are no soap suds left by brushing & rinsing well many times.

Also after cleaning, it is best to sterilize the bottles in hot water.

A drop of any soap liquid enables thorough cleaning before sterilizing.

Hi Pavithra,

I use normal liquid cleaner that I use for other vessels for bottles too. Nipples I clean with brush and bottles most of the time I put in dishwasher (after thoroughly washing off any milk residue before loading it in the machine). While in India also I use normal liquid. I don't think you need to use any special cleaning agent for this. Only thing is to make sure the bottle is washed thoroughly off any soap and sterilise it after washing. Latha

Have you tried cleaning it with a nipple brush? You can give it a try.

hi,
i used baby bottle cleanser liquid from a japanese company called pigeon...rinse the bottles soon after feeds and fill them up with water and a few drops of bottle cleaner...then while washing take care to clean the teats with a teat brush ..show the teat in running water while squeezing the teat so as to let water pass through the hole at high speed...once in a week pass a sharp needle through the nipple hole to get any dried scum out...after sterilising, bottles can be kept sterile in the same vessel (water drained) for 24 hours...after that 24 hrs, sterilize the bottles again even if not used..
after my baby turned one, im using usual dish washing liquid to clean her bottles..

Hi,
I used to wash them with diswasher machine powder becoz its fragrance free and very mild... use the hott water and wash them 3 to4 times

 

Cleaning liquid for bottles

Which cleaning liquid is used commonly for cleaning bottles
in India?I steam clean them and wash them in hot water but still there is the smell of formula/milk which I cannot get rid of?Or is there
a better way to clean avoiding the cleaning liquid?
