Hi,
I would like to share my thoughts. My son had ADHD and he had crossed that hurdle successfully. That had been possible with therapy more and medicine less. One needs to get the help of a neuro psychologist for therapy first to find out the position. And the family and school also plays an important role in rectifying this problem. It would be better to consult a doctor first and take help from her/him.

Friends, Please share all your experiences and inputs with the available medication in Homeopathy and homeopathy practitioners. We had decided on not going thru the regular drugs due to the side effects.
Thanks,
Chinnu

Sorry Chinnu I got little busy with my kids so couldn't reply. My dear daughter has this problem. We found that she is not a normal kid like any other kid and the problems all went to peek when she was 4 years old. I started getting complains from her teachers that she is not focusing in her work at all. We didn't know what was going wrong with her and it almost took 6 months for us to find she is having ADD. We felt like we were in hell. She is such a darling and very smart. Her pediatrician suggested some medicines but he also warned us about the side effects like loss of appetite, sleep and addiction to the medicine. It was quite scary and we didn't want to go for it as she was very little and she needs proper nutrition and sleep to grow. We also took her to a neurologist to make sure nothing else is wrong with her neurologically.
Coming to homeopathic remedies my dad did some course in homeopathy so I got interest on that and I used to read lot of books on homeopathic medicines before I got married. So that helped me now. I was able to get a clear picture of what my daughter is going through and I contacted a doctor in India through my Dad and got medicines for her. Its working pretty good and now she is 6 1/2 and touch wood she is doing better.
As Varloo suggested I would say you better ask your cousin to talk to the Homeopathic doctor. Since I have a little knowledge about this medicine I can say it for sure homeo will do wonders if the medicines are prescribed based on the child's personality. Because there is no common medicine for ADD/ADHD. It will absolutely differ based on the kids personality. So I would STRONGLY recommend your cousin to talk to a home Dr. and explain clearly about her kid's personality because no one knows a kid better than her mom. Don't ever go with over the counter medicines or any ones advice because the medicines that is normally prescribed for this will be high potency medicines.
Apart from this the following also helped my daughter
1. Doing thoppukarnam that we do for lord ganesha will help to activate the brain. I was really surprised when I saw this in an you tube video and its still helping my daughter.
2. Asking them to start the day with something she really loves. e.g. my DD loves music I will ask her to either sing (she is learning carnatic music) or hear some songs.
3. Be patient with her .
4. As varloo said teachers play very important role. Seek their help.
5. If she is in US you can seek help from special school district.
Hope this has helped you a little bit and ask your cousin not to worry and just believe in god and my prayers will always be with her DD to get better.
I love your name Chinnu that's my DD's pet name.
cheers
Meena
