    Hi All,

I am very fond of reading tamil novels. I have read most of Kalki, Sandilyan, Akilan, Lakshmi, Ramanichandran. Read few of Balakumaran, Vikraman, Kannadasan, Sivasankari, Kanchana Jeyathilagar and listing goes on.

Can we list down the best tamil novels that we have read. This may help persons like me searching for what tamil novel can I read next?

    My listing:

    Kalki - Ponniyin Selvan
    Sandilyan - Kadal Pura
Akilan - Chitirapavai, Vengayin Maindan, Kayalvizhi (My favourite)
    Balakumaran - Udayar

    Tats a nice thread...
I too prefer reading tamilnovels that are history based especially.
Recently I got to read a novel named 'Sindhu Nadhi Karayilnile' by 'Hasan'.
This novel was quite different from wat we have heard so far about Hindu rules and showcases the otherside of them.
It portrays how muslims came into hindustan and the reason behind their invasion.
I wouldnt say its the best I've read, but was for sure different from those we get to read normally :)

Soumya, I think you can find it in Govt lending libraries - I took it from one such library.
Shakambari - Its "National Publications" and its office is in T.nagar.
