I liked Digital fortress also.In fact I liked DF more than DA VINCI CODE when I initially read it.I would rate DF as the best Dan Brown's creation.

Would love you hear review from your ladies.
Sabitha - I just finished reading the book and agree with you. It is definitely a 'hang on until you finish' book! I've not read DF so have no comments for it.
The Lost Symbol though didn't feel as thrilling as the other two DB that I have read. I felt the theme meandered a lot with all the philosophical/religious scenarios, felt it was not woven together well.Techie that I am, I'm going to call it loosely coupled(is that even the right English phrase - loosely coupled?)..

Anyway, one thing I love about DB is his vivid description and portrayal of world's most spectacular cities. It almost feels as if you are walking the streets of Paris again or looking at the Trevi fountain at night.
I think I am biased, I'll probably give 5* rating to any book that talks about my two fav cities ;)

Ladies - I'll wait for all your comments on the book. Don't want to add any spoilers here

I was so exited about this book that I pre-ordered this book and started reading it the day it got released. It was OK for the first 250 odd pages and then I some how started loosing interest. After reading all of Dan Brown's books, the steps were fairly predictable. I absolutely loved Da Vince Code, DF, Angels and Demons...but this one...na na na na. Also this time Brown was making an attempt to please every major religion and was trying to be politically correct all the time. My personal opinion....

Laks,

You have described exactly the way I felt in techie jargon 'loosely coupled' .The last few pages were a drag and as Rakhii pointed out perhaps he was trying to appease every religion now after the publication of controversial 'Da Vinci Code'.

Wow, the way he describes those monuments, relics and cities is his forte in story-telling.I would not be surprised if a travel company comes up with customised Washington tour showcasing the highiights from his 'Lost Symbol' novel.

Hi

Thanks for the link, raring to read it.

I have read four books by Dan Brown so far - Angels & Demons, Da Vinci Code, Deception Point and Digital Fortress. I would rate the four as follows -
Digital Fortress - Best
Angels and Demons - 2nd best
Da Vinci Code - 3rd Best
Deception Point - 4th Best

Ladies,
Agree with laks and sabi.. it was loosely coupled, he didnt tie it in properly. But mentioned all loosely in a few places. i havent read deception point or digital fortress but loved da vinci and angels and demons. his style is so predictable after a couple of books. But his research on all the topics is so extensive that you feel trapped in the book until you finish. makes you research on your own on the topics too!!
fun reading but not exceptional

Ladies,
Talking about DF, all of you seem to think it is DB's #1 book. Do any of you have a link for the online version??
