Now a day, for a writer, man or woman, it's very difficult to get the work in print.

Hence many a writers decide to publish their work their books on their own, resorting to the self-publishing.

In a way it is the denial from the publishing industry to publish him/her.

Here the question arises whether such denial dampens the self-published writer's creativity or not?

Alternatively now a day a writer has option to have his/her own website and make the literary work available to readers for reading and buying it online. Is it a good option?

I would like to know the views of all the reader friends on this issue.DOES THE SELF-PUBLISHING DAMPEN THE WRITER'S CREATIVITY ?

You have raised a good question.. It is prevalent that writers do find it difficult to get books published.. Like you say in this day and age one can use the power of the internet to make one's work more well known.
If the writer has got true merits their works will always be published maybe even self publishing the first book..
It certainly does not dampen the writers creative effort. I feel.
Todays world is more competetive and all and sundry claim to write and also lay claim to being a writer.
Hence the stand of publishers. Real talent soon changes this situation.. so a writer should focus on their talent.

I do believe that it doesn't dampen a writer's creativity.

The real issue is distribution - many are able to pull strings and ensure that the book gets recommended for purchase by institutions and libraries etc. and also organize grandiose book launches. All those who fail to do this they met a grand failure.
