Hello Friends,

It is high time that all of you start thinking about yourselves too. It is nice to have a busy routine...but not at the cost of your health. How many of you spend time for yourselves??? Not by doing things that you like ...but relaxing.

- Try to write your daily routine from the time you wake up till you go to bed.
- How much time have you spent for yourself
- Out of this how much time is for your mental peace
- and how much for your physical health.
- if you miss doing something...don't fret over it as it will shoot your BP or give you headaches...no one else is going to suffer except you.
- Learn to say no...when the water starts going over your head.

I have learned this the hard way. Trying to live upto others expectations i started housing diseases, like headaches, tension, high BP, pain on the left side, heavyness in the nape and shoulders etc. And when you are down with this and are not able to go about your duties...you really feel very gross and also at times becomes difficult to bear the pain and inherit insomia.

So ladies wake up and look at yourself ...its high time you take charge of your mental and physical health.

I'll give a sneak peep into my routine.

Get up around 6 - 6.30 finish my morning routine and unload the DW.
7 - 8 go for a walk with DH
8 - 9 prepare fresh juice (someone suggested to have carrot/beet juice for HBP), tea, b/fast and have it with the family. (DH rinses the vessels and i load the DW)
9 - 10 relax, and chit chat with DH as he gets ready to go to work. read n/paper etc.
10 - 12.30 prepare lunch and dinner and have bath and cleaning/dusting around the house (sweeping, mopping, clothes done by domestic help)
12.30 - 2 relax and wit for DH to come home for lunch, have lunch and clean up.
2 - 6 go to work
6 - 7.30 go to Mahikari centre for receiving light.
come home and relax, watch TV, do ironing and other odd jobs around the house.
As soon as DH comes home have dinner, clean, relax and retire at about 11 PM.

This is my normal schedule...it differs few days a month when my social service activities are on. But touch wood my DH is very supportive and encourages me to be independant. Earlier i was working full time, but since 2008 i am taking it easy.

So dear ladies my intention of writing this is to stress on the point...make time for yourself...don't take yourself for granted. For all those who are working...it is great to be career minded and climb the ladder...but my dear not at the cost of your health..."Health is wealth" For those who have to work full time due to unavoidable circumstances, try to reschedule your routine.

On weekends, don't try to make it too hectic. If your spouse is helpful then divide your work, also make kids do small things around the house and as an incentive you can pay them a couple of dollars which goes in their piggy bank or think of something innovative.

I can go on and on but will stop here.

All the best
Roopa.

For all those who get gas problems. Start with kala namak+ajwain, have a pinch of this mix after every meal. Sit in Vajrasan for 5-10 min after every meal. We have some of them following this in office too.

For those who sit long hrs on the PC, blink after every 45 min to an hour. Try doing pranayams in the morning. Do stretch exercise every hour or take a walk...or get up to drink water.

Instead of snacking carry a fruit and eat it whenever hungry. In the summers carry freshlime with ginger. You can also make a syrup and keep it in office and add it to water or soda, instead of having soft drinks which are acidic in nature.

- Have light food which is easily digestible and cut down on oily, fast food.
- Don't take very strong tea or coffee on empty stomach (again acidic in nature)
- If you like have buttermilk with little salt and jeera (but should not be too thick..make it thin). For those who go to work prepare buttermilk the previous night fill it in a bottle or whatever container you are using and put it in deep freezer, remove it when you are leaving for work...this will not turn sour in the heat and by lunch time it will become almost room temperature so no probs in having it.
- Also its healthy to have something every 2 hrs rather than stuffing yourself while sitting for lunch or dinner.
- some docs also say that its not necessary to have chawal n roti both time instead have rice in one meal and roti in one meal.
- Carry fruits/dry fruits to work...so you can avoid snacking and eat healthy. fruits like, apple, orange, banana, pear, papaya, water-melon etc. 5 days 5 different fruit...so it does not become monotonous.
- cut dry fruits into small or halves - almonds, cashew, pista, dates, kishmish, black dry grapes, figs, groundnuts, sugar cubes, etc and keep it in a container.
- have a full b/fast in the morning...which includes, milk/tea/coffee, cereals, one hot dish (upma, poha, idli, dosa, omlette, thepla, etc.) papaya. and fresh juice if possible.
- you can also have a glass of honey with lime in warm water first thing in the morning.

More later.

Roopa.

Hi mubeen
i am jayasree from Riyadh. Today only i happened to see your post, as you said even i was having same problem as yours , pain in the left arm and slight pain in the chest also, for me pain was there in the wrist also.Even my doctor checked me thoroughly, she said it not cardiac problem, so she asked me to take an x-ray of the spine, in the neck and back. From that she found out that it is a cervical problem. She said chest pain is due to that, so she asked to put collar around the neck for few days continuously. now i feel better. I used it for ten days . Now whenever i feel a pain, i use it.She also prescribed me some calcium tablets.
