    Dear all,
Have you ever thought the need for oil bath in our busy schedule. In olden days our Grandmother used to run behind us with an oil bowl. Every weekend we used to take oil bath. But now that has changed. We take oil bath either on diwali or on any other festivals. It has become seasonal. And moreover we feel it as time consuming task to do it.

Let me tell you what all benefits you’ll have from oil bath.
    • Say goodbye to rough, dry skin.
    • Accumulation of dead cells will be reduced.
    • Breakage of elasten and collagen will be under control.
    Only that
    • You’ll have soft and smooth skin
    • It also prevents wrinkling and sagging.
    • Also prevents Stretch marks
    How to do it:

Apply oil on your body. Give simple circular strokes to relax all the muscles. Concentrate more on those areas that are prone to stretch marks. Wash it off with Besan after half an hour. Besan is a good dead cell remover.

What all oil you can use:

Coconut oil: It is considered to be the best oil. It also softens and moisturizes the skin. It prevents wrinkling and sagging.
Olive oil: It helps to combat dry skin.
Almond oil: It improves the skin complexion.
Gingelly oil: It helps to relieve from body heat.

Now tell me , How often do you take oil bath?

Dear Shel , I felt really good...though my skin wasnt showing the symptoms of drying without
the oil bath, and though I wasnt able to massage for more than 5minutes I felt good.

    Shel,

Can we apply a mixture of almond & olive oil to face and then bath after 30min? Can I use soap after that?

    Anitha,

You can use olive oil or almond oil alone. I've never used both together. With soap, its difficult to wash. You can use green gram powder. Usually I use a mixture of green gram and besan to wash off oiliness. Then again with soap.

For dry skin, Dont use besan.

P.S : Dont quote the whole message in your reply. :)

    Hi shel

Thanks for the information about the oil bath. I used to take every week once olive oil bath. But I use soap after that. Now a days I am a bit lazy and it has come down to once or twice a month. But planning to resume the weekly oil bath after reading your post.

I use gingelly oil for hair oil bath. I apply it twice a week,as my body cannot tolerate heat. I apply the oil on hair and wait for an hour and wash my hair with shampoo. After the bath,my whole body feels rejuvenated and supple and it also reduces my menstrual cramps:clap which is the main reason for the taking the oil bath. I hate to apply oil all over the body as it becomes sticky and you can also not sit ,lie down on sofa so i stop oil till hair and don't bring it to my body:hide:

I very rarely apply olive oil for face as i a have an oily face.
