People Who Make A Difference In Our Life

You don't actually have to take the quiz. Just read straight through, and you'll get the point, an awesome one. .....
Take this quiz:
1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America contest.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor actress.
6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.
How did you do?
The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are
no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields.
But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten.
Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.
Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:
1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel, appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.
6. Name half a dozen heroes whose stories have inspired you. Easier?
The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not
the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care.

| | Very true, very sensible and very touchy too. To make a mark in one's life, the person should care and to care there should be love and kindness in the heart. Good one ma'am. |

| | Thanks for being there for me, us and all! You helped me think about the people I care...who cares that I don't know Amitabh Bacchan or the Ambanis or Hilary Clinton. My neighbour Usha is there--for karipatha, dhania leaves and grated coconut; to take my gas cylinder when I go out and to sign for my mail. God bless her. Lovely blog. Padmini Natarajan |

| | Dear Sunkan You really got me foxed i read thru the top questions and i was like whats this -nothing made a connection. Then reading on well as said before you really know how to show the diff. Its simple daily people who we take for granted are really the people that matter in life. In a nutshell it shows that its not how great we actually become but actually how much we matter in other peoples lives. I have become a fan of your writing Sunkan. Its really been a lovely afternoon reading thru your blogs. I have quite a few insights to share with my friends when i meet them next. have a lovely evening too cheers preethi |

| | Dear Sunkan, Really a nice one.... It is very true... the people who make an impact in our lives are not the greatest of all.... It is those people who love us and has interest in our well being... But in this materialistic dynamic world .... things are changing very fast... People are slowly becoming egoistic... They forget that people helped them... Atleast your first set of questions, I can go to google or any other search engine and find the answers... With regard to the second set of questions, people cannot accept... It affects their ego.... They feel they are the master of all and they are on their own... This has become an old generation concept and a minority... People have started taking everthing and everybody for granted.... Veda |
