A Book with pages filled with happy and sad lines
Our life filled with happy and bitter events,

A story is understood only by reading all the lines
A life is lived only by living all the days and nights;

Many characters in a story-nice and evil
Many people come and go in our life;

The chapters close some events and start new
We need closure with so many to start a day anew,

All books do not have a happy ending
Many people fail to find the happiness desired;

Some books get rave reviews, some criticism
The writer just enjoys the words--his tool

Some people find fame and glory
Yet some are like a lamp inside a mud pot.

    Dear Usha,

    Immensely enjoyed your in depth analysis regarding the similarities between life and a book.Each stanza excelled the other and you have packed so much of feeling and meaning into each stanza.The last stanza was really superb.The observation that you made about fame and glory being enjoyed by only a select few while others are akin to the lamp under a clay pot was really so true and poignant.Nevertheless the light tries to shine as best as it can just as people follow their karmas as destined without reaching any great heights .It leaves the reader pensive. Great piece Usha.
    warm regards

    Dear Paulina

    As always enjoyed reading your FB a lot. I was reading a few books one after the other and it made me think on these lines.
    There are alot of people who have such tremendous talent in them, but only their close ones are able to observe them.

    Thanks is not an adequate word for you valuable support.

    Love

    Dear Usha

    Superb poem on life and book.
    Some books are to be tasted, others swallowed and
    some to be chewed and digested. Reading maketh
    a full man, conference a ready man and writing an
    exact man. You have put life in the poem. You
    have brought the importance of books and life very
    well.
