My dear friends,
Here's a short story to share with you.
Chauhan and Jithu joined a wholesale company together just after graduation. Both worked very hard.
After several years, the boss promoted Jithu to sales executive but Chauhan remained a sales rep. One day Chauhan could not take it anymore,
tender resignation to the boss and complained the boss did not value hard working staff, but only promoted those who flattered him.
The boss knew that Chauhan worked very hard for the years, but in order to help Chuan realise the difference between him and Jithu, the boss asked Chauhan to do the following.
Go and find out anyone selling water melon in the market?
Chauhan returned and said yes. The boss asked how much per kg? Chauhan went back to the market to ask and returned to inform boss the Rs.12 per kg.
Boss told Chauhan, I will ask Jithu the same question?
Jithu went, returned and said, boss, only one person selling water melon. Rs.12 per kg, Rs.100 for 10 kg, he has inventory of 340 melons.
On the table 58 melons, every melon weighs about 15 kg, bought from the South two days ago, they are fresh and red, good quality.
Chauhan was very impressed and realised the difference between himself and Jithu.
He decided not to resign but to learn from Jithu.
My dear friends, a more successful person is more observant, think more and understand in depth.
For the same matter, a more successful person sees several years ahead,
while you see only tomorrow.
The difference between a year and a day is 365 times, how could you win?
Think! how far have you seen ahead in your life?
How thoughtful in depth are you?

Edcuational systems and its needs to improve Student friendly- Part 4
Posted 21st August 2008 at 10:41 AM by subbutr
My dear friends,
My views to improve the educational systems are: * Government should come forward to make compulsory educations for all the children’s irrespective of their caste, religious, regional identities.
* Need to open up schools & collages more and strict administrative moderations on mushrooming private institutions.
* Teacher – Students ratio as 1 for 30 is ideal for proper monitoring & coaching
* E Learning technological software’s to be implemented so that students need not carry so many text books and guest lectures be given periodically.
* Industry & Trade bodies on local areas be taken as a co sponsor to provide basic practical approach when comes to final stage of SSLC, UG & PG courses.
* Vocational courses with Trade oriented courses to be offered for the needy.
* Educations at an affordable rate a must instead of present looting & mass commercialization’s of educational systems.
* Scholarships, incentives for those poor meritorious students to continue higher educations.
* Low cost interests on educational loans irrespective of caste, regional status.
* Infrastructures like good buildings, furniture, library, computer center, laboratories and play fields is a must.
* Students should undergo compulsory training in Yoga, N.C.C, Sports, N.S.S activities.
* Quality of educations & revamping marks systems by adopting ranks can justify student’s merits and improving the weaker students through extra classes on their weak subjects through specialist’s teachers.
* No politicizations of educations and influence of religious heads in managing schools & collages.
* National awareness, spiritual involvements, moral values, cultures and traditions are to be students GK so that they can perform as a future responsible citizen.
* Teaching through mother tongue as well as international language English compulsory so that the student can express, understand and observe the basics.
* Profit motive educational institutions under the name of charitable trusts need to be monitored and stern penalty through taxes is the need of the hour to contain misappropriation of funds by these people who run it.
* Updating the information’s on current educations for the teachers through orientation seminars and in house training can improve their teaching strengths.
* In the name of reservations on caste basis please do not deprive student’s future.
* Students after their completion of courses should undergo rural employment participations for at least few months so that they can get the true value of our country’s needs.
* Common syllabus for all over the country so that students can prefer any schools and collages for admissions.
* Coaching classes’ dominations and exploitations to be curtailed as it involves lot of corruptive practices.
* Stereo type of text book scripts and answer sheets can only bring the habits of mugging up and short cuts to score marks and this needs to be reformed by question paper settings so that creative answers than that of text mode can improve students understanding the subjects.

I am so amazed at the outlines you have made here. Absolutely you have given a lot of thought on this topic.
Like I said earlier , I do not agree its ALL the responsibility of the Government alone. Though in an ideal situation, it is. For example would be the advanced countries. Where the Government does provide all education and no one is left behind.
In developing countries, companies and individuals too should step forward and bridge the gap that the Government cannot meet.. maybe my 1cent?Posted 22nd August 2008 at 07:36 PM by Anandchitra

Subbu,
You have indeed given a comprehensive list. But who is to start? At the individual level, if each one of us is able to sponsor one child for his/her education, that itslef will do a substantial amount of good.
In India, we have seen the corporate sector doing a good amount of community service. But what about these bollywood actors? Instead of paying money on auctioning cricketers (who are already minting money through actiivites other than cricket), if the money is spent on establishing school infrastructure for the general masses, that is another big progress in that field.
Think of the media. We have serials after serials on relationships and conniving people. If each channel had an eductional programme targeted at children of various ages, that could be one source.
Even the leading dailies can have one supplement a week pertaining to educative matters. The list is endless...
But it can start from us.
