My dear friends,
Here's a short story to share with you.
Chauhan and Jithu joined a wholesale company together just after graduation. Both worked very hard.
After several years, the boss promoted Jithu to sales executive but Chauhan remained a sales rep. One day Chauhan could not take it anymore,
tender resignation to the boss and complained the boss did not value hard working staff, but only promoted those who flattered him.
The boss knew that Chauhan worked very hard for the years, but in order to help Chuan realise the difference between him and Jithu, the boss asked Chauhan to do the following.
Go and find out anyone selling water melon in the market?
Chauhan returned and said yes. The boss asked how much per kg? Chauhan went back to the market to ask and returned to inform boss the Rs.12 per kg.
Boss told Chauhan, I will ask Jithu the same question?
Jithu went, returned and said, boss, only one person selling water melon. Rs.12 per kg, Rs.100 for 10 kg, he has inventory of 340 melons.
On the table 58 melons, every melon weighs about 15 kg, bought from the South two days ago, they are fresh and red, good quality.
Chauhan was very impressed and realised the difference between himself and Jithu.
He decided not to resign but to learn from Jithu.
My dear friends, a more successful person is more observant, think more and understand in depth.
For the same matter, a more successful person sees several years ahead,
while you see only tomorrow.
The difference between a year and a day is 365 times, how could you win?
Think! how far have you seen ahead in your life?
How thoughtful in depth are you?

Art of Listening ~ My views.
Posted 12th November 2007 at 07:51 AM by subbutr
My dear friends,
Most important is " The art of listening to different views " ,which infact gives us the experiance of learning more on vital issues.
Inspires us " What I've learned " phenomena.
Listening is more difficult than speaking.
In order to speak you have to get in tune with yourself and then project your thoughts in words.
In order to listen, you have to first silence your mind and then get into tune with the mind of the speaker.
In order to absorb what the speaker says, you have to prevent your thoughts from getting in the way.
Quite often instead of listening to what the speaker is offering and absorbing his/her thoughts, we use our thoughts as a filter.
We reject the thoughts we disagree with and only allow the thoughts we agree with to enter our minds, with the result that we really have not listened to the speaker at all but have merely heard him/her.
Quite often, because our minds wander, we do not even hear the speaker.
that's why we hear with our ears but listen with our mind and that we look with our eyes but see with our mind.
Our attitude and past experiences influence what we absorb through listening and seeing.
Our attitude shapes our experience, and our experience in turn influences our whole being.
So it is most important that we have the right attitude.
We can only receive new ideas and grow if we have an open mind.
Unless we have an open mind to what is being experienced,
we cannot learn from that experience, and thus we limit our possibilities.
So the right attitude is to listen with an open mind.
"Accept what is acceptable but do not reject what is not acceptable."
May be the very thought or principle through which will create the opening in our mind through which the higher consciousness can descend into our mind.
just listen, don't give the solution,
do not try to think about your own issues but just listen - to understand - and say things like,
'okay I know what you are saying' or "I can see that".
That vision helps us to get the benefits of listening.
Your views are awaited....

Dear Subbu,
Nice article... How true... We listen and see only what we want to... I fully agree with you.......... I have face many situations, when somebody keeps speaking but i am lost in my own thoughts on the pros and cons... Then ask him to repeat and try to understand.... and think through....

Thank you dear Vysan for the kind gestures and let us discuss more on this.
we have an experiential mind and a rational mind.
Our experiential mind learns directly, thinks quickly, pays attention to the outcome, and forgets slowly.
Our rational mind learns indirectly, thinks deliberately, pays attention to the process, and forgets rapidly. It's that we need both our minds.
Games and interactive strategies appeal directly to the experiential mind.
When combined with debriefing discussions, they provide a powerfully balanced approach to whole-brain learning.
Someone can be highly creative and practical but have a low IQ.
According to research, practical and creative intelligence are better predictors of job effectiveness than analytical intelligence which is measured by IQ tests. Interactive, experiential techniques can develop our practical and creative intelligence and enhance our success.
We all have ( at least ) seven types of intelligence:
linguistic intelligence (thinking in words and using language),
logical-mathematical intelligence (quantifying and working with hypotheses),
kinesthetic intelligence (acquiring physical skills),
spatial intelligence (three-dimensional thinking),
musical intelligence (working with pitch, rhythm, timbre, and tone), interpersonal intelligence (interacting with others), and
intrapersonal intelligence (understanding one's self).
We need emotional intelligence with self-awareness, impulse control, persistence, motivation, and empathy.
The principles and procedures related to emotional intelligence are best learned by experiencing these factors and analyzing their impact.
Here's a quick recap of the seven laws of learning that have consistently given us results.
LAW OF REINFORCEMENT: Participants learn to repeat behaviors that are rewarded.
LAW OF EMOTIONAL LEARNING: Events that are accompanied by intense emotions result in long-lasting learning.
LAW OF ACTIVE LEARNING: Active responding produces more effective learning than passive listening or reading.
LAW OF PRACTICE AND FEEDBACK: Learners cannot master skills without repeated practice and relevant feedbacks.
LAW OF PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE: New learning should be linked to (and build upon) the experiences of the learner.
LAW OF INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES: Different people learn in different ways.
LAW OF RELEVANCE: Effective learning is relevant to the learner's life and work.
Family life, in all its various forms, can provide a foundation for all learning.
Learning to know, Learning to be, Learning to do, Learning to live together.
Every moment provides the oppertunity to learn so many things and it's up to us to learn and grasp.
Let us discuss after our friends comments.
