மக்கட்ப்பேறு
OFFSPRING
61. பெறுமவற்றுள் யாமறிவது இல்லை; அறிவறிந்த
மக்கட்பேறு அல்ல பிற.
perumavattrul yaamarivadhu illai; arivarindha
makatperu alla pira.
புரிந்து கொண்டு வாழும் மக்கட்பேர் உடையவர்க்கு, இதை விட என்ன பெரிய ஆசீர்வாதம் இருக்க முடியும்?
There is no greater blessing than to get understanding children.
62. எழுபிறப்பும் தீயவை தீண்டா; பழிபிறங்காப்
பண்புடை மக்கள் பெறின்.
yezhupirappum theeyavai theendaa; pazhipirangaa
panbudai makkal perin.
பழி இல்லாத மக்கட்பேறு உடையார்க்கு, இனி வரும் ஏழு பிறவியிலும் தீமைத் தீண்டாது.
No evil will touch upon those who have children of unstained character, (for seven births).
63. தம்பொருள் என்பதம் மக்கள்; அவர்பொருள்
தம்தம் வினையான் வரும்.
thamporul yenbadham makkal; avarporul
thamtham vinaiyan varum.
பிள்ளைச் செல்வம் ஒருவரின் கர்மவினையை பொறுத்தே அமையும்.
Children are called one's fortune, that comes only through the result of their deeds.
64. அமிழ்தினும் ஆற்ற இனிதே; தம் மக்கள்
சிறுகை அளாவிய கூழ்.
amizhdhinum aattra inidhae; tham makkal
sirukai alaaviya koozh.
அமிர்தத்தைக் காட்டிலும் சுவையானது, தம் பிள்ளை கைக் கொண்டு அளாவிய கூழ்.
The porridge messed up by our children's tiny hands, tastes more sweeter than the nectar.
65. மக்கள்மெய் தீண்டல் உடற்கின்பம்; மற்றவர்
சொற்கேட்டல் இன்பம் செவிக்கு.
makkalmei theendal udarkinbam; mattravar
sorkettal inbam sevikku.
குழந்தைத் தீண்டும் பொழுது உடலுக்கின்பம்; அதன் சொல் கேட்டல் செவிக்கின்பம்.
Body delights with the touch of the children and ears delight when they speak.

மக்கட்ப்பேறு
