(Dear Friends, I know there are lot of you out there who are trying to conceive, and as I did not want to hurt anybody's feeling, I have posted it here in my blogs rather than as a discussion in the forum. If somebody feels hurt, I say sorry in advance..it is just my thought process on the commercial surrogacy)

Yesterday my maid, was telling me that her friend(A) who works in the same neigbourhood was discussing about going in for renting her womb to an NRI couple who are the son and...

I love argument, I love debate. I don't expect anyone just to sit there and agree with me, that's not their job” said the Iron lady Margaret Thatcher. I do fall under the same category. I think I fell in love with them at school when I started arguing about the actual the interpretations of a poem. (Boy! Surely miss them…)

Take for example during a telephone conversation with veda some time back, I had heated arguments, about the dollar touching rs.50 so strongly it turned into...

Encounter with the Turtles.

.

I have been to the Ras AL Hidd, a peninsula with beautiful beaches in oman about 180kms from muscat. The drive from muscat is really dry. you are surrounded only with mountains and sometimes you get to watch camels on the way. The sand dunes are also a treat.

So this ras al hidd, is the nesting grounds and turtle reserve for one of the endangered species. And a turtle returns here once every fourth year, to nest.

Every year around June, the...

Did you know about this Day?

Posted 14th March 2008 at 08:50 AM by Shanvy
Last week I was on Mount Road near the voltas signal.A week day, the traffic was hectic, too hot, was sitting waiting for the traffic to ease as the driver had to take a left turn. We were all stopped as there was some procession progressing.
Suddenly there was this procession, with a band and guys dancing. There was a pallavan bus, with very few people inside, the bus was decked with flowers, for a change the driver had big smile and a very happy face, seeing this started searching...

I have always been bowled over by the natural beauty of oman, that is seen and also the hidden treasures..

For some time during my stay had heard, read about caves in Oman. No..just hold on girls dont start thinking that caving means you have to sqeeze through tight holes on hands and knees..

You will be amazed that most of the caves have huge passages like highways and also the underground is more like a playground(???where did i get the idea..)

Remember The Circus or Heard about Circus Skill Classes

Do you remember the gemini circus.?? The pamphlets and the speakers announcing the arrival of the circus...all the preparations that can been seen even before the circus starts..the multicolour tents..the circus jokers showing glimpses on a wagon...oh...those days....i dont find many circuses happening today in India...

The artistes are probably the worst sufferers in all this. While at one time they used to have a huge fan following, today they are barely able to attract enough...

Posted 2nd November 2007 at 09:47 AM by Shanvy
Last month had been to an children fair..where there were games you could indulge in..some of them were almost forgotten to the present generation. I was told that if I play and win I would get a pallanguzhi. so I went at it with a gusto, played hard, won the game..my children were so proud..went in to collect the prize ...we came out like lifeless balloons...(the pallanguzhi's were over and i got a box of crayons, which i presented to a small girl.)

But DS and DD were curious...

Is It Coffee or Tea

Posted 29th October 2007 at 07:34 AM by Shanvy
I remember, it was a hot sunny day. Me and my friend (he is a very close family friend and always considered as part of our family) went to triplicane to meet his uncle for some printing order to be given. My friend’s uncle was running a printing press. He wanted some printing to be done as a help to some Mandali. We gave the order and from there walked to mount road. We both were feeling real hungry. We were not heavily loaded on cash front. So we went to one of my friends favorite cafeteria...

When you take your children out what are your kids interested in , most of the time my children enjoy all the simple things that are easily found when you go out on a drive or on a vacation.

You may find it silly, but my children really enjoy watching,

Brick making..the beautiful clay moulded ones, being put into a furnance and lit..and the baked ones arranged...

Sugar cane juice – how the sugar can is passed through the rollers and the juices collected....
