| Posted 9th September 2008 at 11:26 AM by Shanvy I was thinking of writing a blog on a different topic for quite sometime, could not make it due to different reasons.. This is an spontaneous one to pay tribute to the man whose violin used to speak to us, the man none other than Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan, who passed away on 8th of september. I initially had the chance of listening to him and even watching him during the thiyagaraja aradhanai vizha, and then by chance somebody introduced a cd of his songs, I admired... | IL Hall Of Fame | |

| Posted 23rd June 2008 at 12:00 PM by Shanvy Lullabies are songs that lull the baby to sleep. Most of the time it is a very smooth and soothing tone without any high pitches to scare the listener. All of us would have rocked the baby in our arms and hummed and sometimes sing all about assurances and love whether it understands or not. Whether we have sung in th e bathroom or not, mothers’ all over atleast hum a tune or a simple song to soothen the baby into a beautiful sleep. And even today my kids are known to sleep to... | IL Hall Of Fame | |

There have been many songs that touched a chord in me. My Dad used to always bring in MGR and Sivaji tapes whenever he used to come ... | IL Hall Of Fame

Ahir bhairav, is a hindustani raga and chakravaham is the carnatic equivalent. It is a early morning Raga.
Ahir Bhairav is one of my favourites. I fell in love with this raga because of the song Pibare Rama Rasam. When I was a kid, there was this telugu movie, in which vijayashanthi sings this song, I fell in love with this song then. It is a ... | IL Hall Of Fame

| Posted 14th January 2008 at 06:51 PM by Shanvy Further on music.....as I mention in my last blog on music therapy..
Vibrating sounds form patterns and create energy fields of resonance and movements in the surrounding space.
We absorb these energies, and they alter our breathing, pulse, blood pressure, muscle tension, skin temperature, and other internal rhythms. Vibration transmitted by music thus can affect the patient positively..
According to researchers certain ragas are used to cure certain... | IL Hall Of Fame
