hi all,
Life has taught us lot of things...we have been shocked, had our quota of fun, and also impressed and impacted from the everyday news...The panchantra stories to the chicken soup to the today's real life stories...
This is from our desk...shanvy and vysan

Waiting for you...
I have cricks in my neck,
Craning, gazing out for you,
For a first meet, that would
Cleanse me of the suffocation,
We are parched by your absence,
Absence makes it dearer they say,
How true, you are missed by everyone
Do come soon, to quench our thirst,
The ground is so cracked up waiting,
Like it hit itself out of frustration,
The trees and flowers so shy,
That they have drooped heads,
And some have gone hiding too..
The wells and lakes are so dry,
I cannot see myself complain,
the girls, frogs and the moon,
What is making you so late,
You were always here like clockwork,
Though not on days predicted..
Heard that you are visiting places,
where you have outstretched your welcome??
Your understanding of,
hospitality has gotten messed,
owing to Global warming??
Why don’t you come soon,
To cool Mother Earth who,
Is reluctant to forgive us,
For all the blunders…
Oh, Mr.Rain, do come in before,
Your absence makes people
Hate you for not being there
In times of need…..
This year the government has recently made an statement, we already have 25% shortage in the monsoons, which were late than usual..we are looking at Elnino, global warmings to share the blame, while we humans with our selfishness, reckless abuse of our abundant resources are mainly at fault.
The main blame should be borne by the government?? i suppose..with no desilting in any of the rivers, lakes/ponds, there is no way we are collecting the abundant rain water.
We need to learn and practice water conservation and rainwater harvesting.
Hope we learn faster from our mistakes..and try to rectify them.

Youv'e done it Again, Shanthi
Well, we are yet to come out of the pangs of growing up. And here is the 'waiting' saga.
I need to admit sheepishly that I first thought of waiting for Veda Vyasan. Well, even then the words will fit like a glove but for the last few lines.
But when I know it was rain that you are waiting for, I melted even more.
A great work, Shanthi. Way to go.

Sridhar,
Thank you.
this waiting saga was scribbled 2 months back during a heart wrenching moment of seeing a small kid taking out water from a drain and drinking, it was shown on a news channel.
a little bit of preserving our nature would go a long way.
thanks for your compliments.
i wonder how you thought it was for veda.
but not going to disappoint you. maybe this one and this one may be more apt.
Thanks for all the encouragement, and coming from you it is a great achievement for me.Posted 15th November 2009 at 10:31 PM by Shanvy
