Loving the sunshine!

Posted 27th April 2008 at 08:05 PM by Ranganayaki
I simply love warm, sunny days...nothing beats that feeling! After all these months of cloudy, rainy, gloomy days, I am so thrilled that my hall is sunny and bright this weekend !

Maybe it is to do with my upbringing, that in the MiddleEast all we know is summer and the sun. Or that I have never lived in the West.

Whatever, the reason might be I never enjoyed the gusty cold winds while taking a walk nor liked wearing layers of clothes and the woollen knitwears and so on. For me light clothing completely rocks!

Now's the time to take a walk by the beach, have a picnic, a nice boat ride or even go hiking on the weekends! Besides a walk/jog on the weekday evenings is more motivating with the warmth.

I am now filled with ideas for fun in the sun! See the sun even brightens my mind!

Any of you ILites agree with the love for summer??!

Yes Ranganayaki,

The sun shining is fine but blazing is a little too much for me. Here its very hot and humid and we eagerly await the rains expected in a couple of months . TIll then we do try to chill ourselves.
Yes I love swimming in these weathers and we almost all adopt the life style of amphibians alternating between land and water..
But then these are the times when I am justified for gorging on ice creams etc . which I do not otherwise.

So enjoy the summer and like ML mentioned do post some pics.

Love,
Devika

HI Ranganayaki,

Coming form Chennai Iam more of a rainy rainy person, but ,yes ,sun is gud too when it doesnt get above the thirties. It gives a gud clean feel to ur home n makes u start ur day early. Presently am in Winnipeg, Canada. After seeing seven long months of never ending snow n cold I agree sun is really gud. it definitely lifts up ur spirits n u can bury all ur winter garments deep inside the closet.

Regards,
CC

Dearest Ranganayaki ma'am,

I can understand the long for a warm sunny day from your end as I had good experience with my Chithi paati (my mom's mom's sister). She shuttles between U.S and Canada as her two daughter's inhabit the two extremes. When she comes down to Chennai, I know how she longs to go for a walk in the mornings and evenings.. or even inside our own flat.. especially without the "socks" ha ha ha....

I love cold climate as we have not seen to much of a climate of that sort in Chennai for a couple of months. Though I love the sunny days, am scared to go out as the heat affects the skin a lot and always am left with rashes and red marks :(:(

We have artificial snow settings in the exhibitions and super malls when the scorching sun shows head high up in the whitish blue; when other parts of the world relish the natural snow fall !!! Extremes always leave a lasting impact, I realize :)

Regards with Love

Me too, Ranganayaki. Love the bright and even hot summers. But not the cold winter. You are absolutely right in saying wearing light dresses make us rock :))
