We had a small kids party at home on 25th as it was Shrawan's birthday. I had to run to the kid's school in the morning, again have to go and pick Shrawan in the afternoon, and as it was P&T day for my daughter I have to go that too. After working like a clock right from morning 5.30, I felt a bit tired and just relaxed for a while. Just when I was relaxing my mom asked me whether I have finished preparing the juice, etc etc., I Drowning, said amma pls let me relax...

Idi Idikuthu, we use these words quite very often at so many places. Not just when the actual thunderstorm is overhead, but also when two people are having a (real fight), heated arguments or when someone is bombarding other.

It was really very nice to hear the song I hear thunder in Tamil when my DD and DS were singing it together today.

I had always wondered about this particular topic; one of my friends had lots of fan following, especially boys, she is not a beauty queen, but she is very presentable and is admired by all for the way she carried herself. I had personally learnt so many things from her right from dressing sense. My father-in-laws family are also Ambal Upasakas and my FIL have been given Bala Mantro Upadesam.

For many years and here too for almost 4 generations, people have moved out of their ancestral village of Poovanur, near Mannargudi. Off late, it is time for us to keep going to Kula Deivam temples of both sides. My parent's side and also inlaws side. For a very long time, say for around, 4 generations, my father and his forefathers have been ignorant of their kuladeivam, and as the general saying goes, "Tirunelveli kaaralukku kuladeivam theriyalaina, Tirupathi Venkatachalapathy thaan Kuladeivam" i.e. if Tirunelveli people dont know their Kuladeivam, they keep Tirupati Perumal as theirs and moreover as my great grandmother...
