Breakfast - Nutrition Snippet

Healthy BREAKFAST…healthy you!!!
A healthy breakfast includes a balanced mix of
Ø Proteins
Ø Carbohydrates
Ø Fats
It can increase a person’s metabolism and sustain higher level of energy throughout the day; as this is the first and the most important meal of the day.
- Cereal (wheat flakes/ oats) with milk (ideally cow’s or skimmed)
- Dry fruits (not more than 2 – 3 – they will help you boost your memory ) and fresh fruits – in a limited quantity of one bowl (150gms) + Milk – 1 Glass (200ml) (This breakfast is packed with potassium, memory – boosting bananas tops this list)
- Bread Toast – 2 + *Egg – 1 (ideally boiled/ scrambled preferred)
- Snacks like Pohe, Upma, Sandwiches (with lots of vegetables) – 1 Serving
- Idli – 2 + Sambar – 1
l OR Dosa – 2 + Chutney – 1 tsp (ideally the powdered chutney would be beneficial) - Roti – 1 + Vegetable – 1
l (150gms) OR Curd – 1

You can also add in some juice or buttermilk or coconut water along with your breakfast whenever possible
* For eggs please consult the dietician/ doctor before consuming if you have a deranged lipid profile.

| | Hi Nandhini.. I have tried eating all these breakfast..one thing i find is..I dont feel full after eating any of these..i tend to feel hungry by 1-2 hours..is there anything to combat this? |
