Truth and Perception

CHANDRAYAN made a historical discovery yesterday...its still clammering the news channels.....Moon has Water. We at home heard , discussed and chewed it but before we could digest and move to another story, my DS comes with his query, "If they have seen water , why are they just talking of it and not showing any pics?"
Quite a valid question.
My hubby went on to tell him the difference between the water we use and the water that is on the moon . Also the fact that this water cannot be photographed, and it was detected through some scientific methods. The water is not in form of sea, lake, or even as a puddle or not even a drop. It is embedded in the surface in the minerals found there.About 1/2 a ltr in a ton of soil. But it does not mean that this is not water just because we cannot wash out face with it.
Dear DS still needs time to assimilate this. He's still young enough to understand the difference between truth and perception. But what about us, we too want all cut and dried for us to proclaim something as a truth.
Let's take the case of faith in GOD.
Many of us beleive in an entity above us , from whom we ask favours , but the day a favour is not granted our faith is shaken and we start to quetion the very entity before whom we bow.
Thus our faith is also a perception which we think we have till it is put to an exam. It is quite interesting to notice that how we change our thinking with change in our surroundings and changes in our prosperity too at times.
So how can I tell my DS about the presence of water which can not be photographed,
while I myself need to be reaffirmed from time to time regarding my faith.
Oh! me of little faith.

A Great Simile, Muzna
Dear Muzna,
I am amazed at how you are able to link the water in the moon to our faith in God.
The modern day science actually takes us closer to God. Many of the concepts in Quantum Physics actually go on to say about the existence of God.
Fritjof Copra wrote a whole book The Tao Of Physics. And there was this classic, The Dancing Wu Li Masters.
I also read the news, Muzna. But you went ahead and linked it to our faith in God.
A job well done. I am proud of you, Muzna.
