Maybe I am wrong , but just as I read about Barak Obama winning the Nobel peace prize, I thought FOR WHAT?

I am short of info about the deeds he has done to get this honour.

Please my IL friends , go ahead and help me find out about his peace oriented actions...
and please do not quote that he has been
remembering Bapu lately!!!

(And yes Bapu just smiled when I asked him about his reaction.How can Bapu leave me in a lurch when i am pondering over such serious matter of world peace? )

OR could it be that he has been awarded in advance for what he talks about peace emanating measures in the world. Very futuristic organisation has the NOBLE FOUNDATION become.

	Ayyan Thanks for the fb. When I first read it I thought, I had misunderstood some word , so went back to read again, then sat back t think, which part of the year it was..certainly not April. The news had the dual ability of making me laugh and leaving me dumbfounded , both at one time together. Thus I rushed to ask you all.

I have lost all regards for Peace Nobel

Dear Muzna,

The one sure thing this event taught me was that the Nobel Prize is not a noble prize. Then I remembered that the founder of this much coveted prize was after all a death merchant. Yes, he was the one who invented a kind of efficient explosives.

I have regards for Obama. In fact I wrote his biography which was published last year as a 200 page book. But Nobel Peace Prize is not to be given to some one who has come up in life or to some one holding high office. And Obama is just about 9 months old in office. He has not done anything significant to merit this kind of an award. If at all anything has happened in the US, things have gone from bad to worse.

By giving this award the Nobel Award Committee has achieved the impossible. It has in one stroke defamed and defiled all those who won Peace prizes earlier.

With this kind of a peace award I am really worried about the world peace.

Hi,

I agree - cannot think of what he has done to get this prestigious honour. Especially when you compare with past recipients like Nelson Mandela who were truly deserving. Even my American colleauges are shocked! And the award should not be an incentive - i.e. the prize will spur him to facilitate peace. They don't give out the nobel for physics, chemistry etc to scientists who may invent something in the future! Wouldn't it be a hoot if he starts bombing Iran next year??
