On the Buddhapurnima, I take the opportunity to bow my head in reverence to Lord Buddha - the Shakyamuni.
His parents named him Siddhartha...the one who acheives his AIM. And he did acheive it when he went searching for the truth of life.
His Father Siddodhana, feared him to become an ascetic , thus kept him away from all religious stuff.. but all have but one destiny, so how could siddhartha not follow his.
Over the time period, his values gave him a saintly nature and one day he left his family and renounced the material world .
The teachings he left for us are one of the greatest in the religious world.He discovered what Buddhists call the Middle Way - the path of moderation away from the extremes of self- indulgence and self-mortification.
I finally again bow my head to the ENLIGHTENED ONE..Whose teachings were so great as to influence the people all over the world.
