Maybe I am wrong , but just as I read about Barak Obama winning the Nobel peace prize, I thought FOR WHAT?

I am short of info about the deeds he has done to get this honour.

Please my IL friends , go ahead and help me find out about his peace oriented actions...
and please do not quote that he has been
remembering Bapu lately!!!

(And yes Bapu just smiled when I asked him about his reaction.How can Bapu leave me in a lurch when i am pondering over such serious matter of world peace? )

OR could it be that he has been awarded in advance for what he talks about peace emanating measures in the world. Very futuristic organisation has the NOBLE FOUNDATION become.

I also share the same view; at first when I read it on bulletin board of office I thought it’s some kind of joke. When I realize it was not a joke and Obama is awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace…I was like what??!!! There surely are many other deserving people other than him for the same. And if it is for all the speeches he make about peace movement then I think maybe I can win a Nobel for Science by writing a very advanced high tech sci fiction !!!!

	Hi Muzna, Forgot to mention an important point that is tragic especially in the Indian context.Around the time of the infamous announcement of the Nobel Peace Prize, our Indian Embassy in Kabul,Ahfghanistan came under fire and bomb explosions resulting in 18/20 casualities...... so much for the peace efforts in troubled regions! 	I heard this from a friend of mine and was surprised. Have little idea about the genuinity of this info. The nomination for nobel prize was to be submitted by February 1st week and Obama took charge of office on Jan 20th. So nomination was filed within his 10 days in office??? crazy.. isn't it??

	Dear All, I was shocked too. Not only me but everyone in the office. Of late have been reading a lot of articles on this in the papers thinking probably I have been ignorant of his achievemnets. But there seems to be nothing he has done to deserve this. This has cast a doubt on the process and selection procedures followed for giving this very "nobel" prize. regards Uma
