அட்சய திருதியையில் என்ன செய்ய வேண்டும்?
அட்சயதிருதியின் நோக்கமே பிறருக்கு தானங்கள் கொடுக்கவேண்டும் என்பதுதான். குறிப்பாக சொல்ல வேண்டுமானால் இல்லறத்தானின் (சிராவகத்தான்) கடமைகளில் ஒன்றான துறவறத்தாரை ஆகார தானத்தால் தாங்குதல் ஆன “விருந்தோம்பலை”க் குறிப்பதாகிறது. ஆனால், அதுவே பின்னாளில் நோக்கம் மாறி தேவர்களால் பொழியப்பட்ட விலையுயர்ந்த நகைகளை மக்கள் தங்கள் வீடுகளுக்கு அள்ளி சென்றதை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு விட்டார்கள். அதன் அடிப்படையில் அன்றைய தினம் நகை வாங்கினால் செல்வம் பெருகும் என்ற நினைப்பில் செயல்பட தொடங்கிவிட்டார்கள்.

பண்டிகைகளின் உண்மையான நோக்கத்தை அறிந்து, ஏழைகளுக்கு தம்மால் முடிந்ததைக் கொடுத்து உதவுங்கள். அதனால் அவர்கள் மனம் குளிர்ந்தால், தன்னாலேயே நம் செல்வம் பெருகும். அப்படி முடியாதவர்கள் ஏழை சிறுவர்களுக்கு கரும்புச் சாற்றினையாவது கொடுத்து "அட்சயதிருதியை" கொண்டாடுங்கள்.

People take everything to their own advantage or shall we say, it is the gimmick of the businessmen...
while watching an ad for this Akshayathritiyai,' buying white metal is prevelant these days and why not buy 'platinum'-'--my mom commented like why not buy silver, but my hubby commented like why not aluminum?
dhanam is what insisted on this day...but do we do that?

Hi Sri,
thanks for your post. My father used to say that we have to do 'pithru kariyam' on that day. So they will feel happy and they will bless us. Generally if we do those 'pithru kariyams' with out fail we will not fall on ill. It is a belief. So we must satisfy them and on this Akshayathrithiya day, if you do 'tharpanam', they will give triple time bless to you.
