The Current Name of this garden Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Gardens named after in memory of the Late Prime Minister of Mauritius. It covers an area of about 60 acres.
The entrance gates give a majestic look to this garden and they also have won prices in international exhibition in London for their structure. It takes around two hours to visit the entire garden and there is a pathway covered on both sides by palm trees. There are many species of plants and trees there. They are even classified as male and female species.
The most attractive feature of This Garden is the huge lilly pond and the world's biggest lilly leaf. They can hold a new born baby on them. Its really amazing to see them. The Lilly is huge and attractive which is a must to see in Mauritius.
Ile Aux Cerfs:
It is a small island on the North East of Mauritius. Tourists are taken from the main island in speed boats which itself is a great thrilling experience. The specialty of this island is the clear waters and the scenic beauty. Mountain heads are visible clearly from this island and this is the best place of relaxation for all tourists.
Chamarel Coloured Earth:
It is situated in black river district. This is yet another place which made us awe struck. The Mineral deposits in the land and the sun light had caused wonders with colors. The place is well preserved by government and attracts tourists from all parts of the world. Fences are placed all around. This place is best viewed in bright sunlight.
