Owning and Disowning

Owning something is always proudful. The more we own, the more we pride. The more we own through money, power or talent, the more we are happy and excited. We love to 'own' all material and non-material things. We love life more especially when we own more. We like to own money, status, reputation, family, beauty, name and fame, health, power, strength, popularity, degrees, talent, etc. and these are some top most desirable human assets. The more we own, the more higher is our self esteem and our love for life. It does not mean that a beggar or a bankrupted person may not have love for life. I would say that they too own something that is very precious. They own some rights. A right to breathe, a right to take decision for the life they own and a right to see possibilities in future. Moreover, they carry a valuable ornament of humans i.e. Hope. The more we own, the higher we crave for better add in our wants-list and assets. Contradictorily, maybe, at some stage, the void in the minds of millionaire as well as a beggar may equate. They are not happy for they want more and whatever they have is not enough.

When a baby is born, it is forced to take first breathe, the rest of the baby's breathes are involuntary that is carried through out its life. The heart keeps beating through out life. It does not stop functioning for a certain time frame. The time-frame that is designated by the creator. We own the most important body, breathes, heart beats, instinct, perspective, etc. for that much time frame. But one day, we would be disowning all assets that we have. We would have to disown our life.

We never like to 'disown' anything that we 'own' without any proper reward in exchange. If our birth is not an accident and if there is life after death, I question the reliability of the spiritual knowledge. Spiritual knowledge that claims different or similar phenomena from different religions. What are the evidences that the preachers have experienced the state of living after death?

Optimistically, I would view that we are here to 'celebrate' our birth and adding each year to that day. We celebrate our birthday for covering one more mile in our journey. However, some people are terrified of celebrating this day as they are afraid of getting more closer to the eternal destination of their life. But, we are here to celebrate for the cause that we had come on this land with 'nothing' with us and we got one more year to create 'something' by our presence. If nothing else, what we can pride is making efforts and learning from those efforts. We can always see a 'meaning' of our life and if nothing, we want to see how we get congruent with our defined meaning of our life. We get an opportunity to live our life for one more year and to add our efforts describing the meaning of our life. It is not about winning or losing but it is about making efforts. The efforts that prove our existence.

The process of learning, knowing, celebrating, valuing is always important in our life. If life is a mystery ahead, it is lovely to live life today. In my opinion, the charm of living life can not be achieved when we are given 1000 chances to live life i.e. through reincarnation. It would make the process monotonous and may make it dis-interesting. The life may not be as interesting as it should be. The real charm is only in living one life in thousand ways.

A new day is always welcoming. Each moment in our day is as brightening as the sun is. We can find every visible thing under the sun but the opportunity has to be found from our minds and these opportunities do not knock unless identified by us. And we would do this because we own a life and we also own the freedom to create and use possibilities. This freedom would not remain with us forever because this is also the vital fact of life.

Today, I peeped into the spiritual world and see nothing but darkness beyond life. If that is the dark part, I wish that may God grant us the strength to fulfill all our wishes and desires in the lightness. To enjoy all blessings before the day when we retire from our rights to enjoy all our six senses, let us enjoy the right of owning all these powerful senses. Because owning something is always proudful. Hope is eternal.

Thank you for your thoughts. I have complete respect for your thoughts. The purpose of my feedback is not to disprove anything you said in your blog but to express my humble opinion with due respect to your thoughts.

The more we own, the higher we crave for better add in our wants-list and assets.

Spiritual thoughts and practices are not necessarily learned from the world's religions and it is about our way of living. All the above lines indicated in your blog are good spiritual thoughts that emanated from your heart because of your good nature.

I have the spirit in me that guides me to do the right things and there is nothing wrong in it pursuing happiness. The only question is whether I, the real spirit should pursue happiness in the world guided by my mind? Should I expect results of my body's action? As long as I have the equanimity to accept the happenings around me, I understand firmly that nothing I have I possess permanently, all my desires could never be fulfilled and I am here in this world for a purpose, rest is immaterial. If I am ready to take credit for good things happening to me and I should be able to digest bad things that are happening to me without blaming God for that. As a matter of fact, God does not expect me to worship Him. He expects me to lead a purposeful life that would help me to achieve salvation. The important teaching in non-dualism is to believe that I am part of the divine pursuing constantly to become one with the Universal Absolute.

If I look for happiness in the world, I become dependent and I keep coming back to pursue my desires and ensuing happiness. If I become spiritual, I begin the process of withdrawal from the world and my desires that takes me to eternal bliss.

In simple terms, the husk that is around the rice is my desires and if I bury the rice with the husk, it sprouts again and again. If I remove the husk, it can't sprout and hence terminates my burden and suffering.

If I can remain in the state of Bliss permanently by pursuing my mind, I can choose that path without any questions.

Again, all of the above are teachings of learned teachers and not mine. I believe in them. If any of these words presented here in this feedback are hurtful to you, please forgive me.

Thank you Viswamitraji for once again sharing your beautiful thoughts. I promise, you could not be hurtful in anyways. I love your thoughts, however, I also like to write my limited thoughts in limited vocabulary.

I wish that at some stage, I can see the truth as much as you do today. Maybe, that would require more reading and more experiencing.

As the Christmas holidays are over some time back, I have started filling up my days with work and study along with the permanent kids time and house-management time. This restricts me to read more of your blogs these days. I really miss that part of my routine activity.

Thanks once again for the thoughts-sharing and please keep directing.

    Dear Anuradha,
Asusual a well written and well maintained flow of thoughts.. Loved to read it and the following lines again and again

maybe, at some stage, the void in the minds of millionaire as well as a beggar may equate. They are not happy for they want more and whatever they have is not enough.
Exactly....... we all are irrespective of the status and living standards.. at some point or other dissapointed for not having much more due to the false pride we feel due to the concept of owning..

we are here to celebrate for the cause that we had come on this land with 'nothing' with us and we got one more year to create 'something' by our presence.
We get an opportunity to live our life for one more year and to add our efforts describing the meaning of our life. It is not about winning or losing but it is about making efforts. The efforts that prove our existence.
    Thanks for an excellent blog
