" I've Never Seen a Smiling Face that was not Beautiful "
How much this means to me. Having had my own practice in Bangalore, I have always found all of the patients walkin into my clinic beautiful even behind the pain ! All of them walked in with a concern about their Oral Health even if it was forced by their body. I am here to share my experiences from the time I was allowed to treat patients towards a successful career.. All of us gain information from others' experiences is what I feel. Every new day was a new experience to me and I was getting abundance in knowledge with every passing day ! I quote a saying here by Alfred Shenwold
"Learn all you can from the mistake of others. You won't have time to make them all yourself !!"
My blog space would be more interactive like the kind of person I am ! Let me read all that you wanted to know about Dental / Oral Health !

| | Dear Lata , Yes.. there is a study on the amount of Thermal Stress ( severity of temperatur ) a tooth can bear ! It is proven that anything above it could " CRACK YOUR TEETH " !!!! So what your husband says is right.. It would cause sensitivity when the enamel / dentin cracks and could lead to pain eventually ! It might be ok for the rest of the body to handle that hot / cold food but our teeth demands special attention !!! ;) So start listening to your hubby... He is talking sense :) |

| | Dear Preethi...one doubt My dad did this on a regular basis..once in abt 10days. His was pearly white...never had tooth problems and all were intact till his end, a couple of yrs back...at the age of 65+. So just wanted to clarify if that act was useful...Hee hee he used to advise us to do the same..we did it only when he repeatedly told us...do not have that practice..(And I read recently that even Marlyn Monroe also did that..and her teeth were perfect.. |
Posted 11th September 2008 at 11:25 AM by Saraswathipv |
| | Dear SaraswathiHehe , i dont know what Monroe did to her teeth ! I better not comment on that !! But I believe your dad must have had lovely ones !! Salt is definitely good once in a week/ 10days ! But lime juice.. NO ! It is citric and could damage your teeth ! I have heard from some of my patients that they used to rub the inside of lemon skin onto their teeth and that made it white ! And guess what they had come to me with injured gums !!! ![]() |

| | Thanx Preethi...nice that you warned me about the lemon.....Ok will atleast try to use that salt experiment ..from you...heehee. |

| | Preethi, Nice idea of yours, to give help to our teeth related problems.. I might get help if any situation arises.. Your avatar reminds me of a dentist, you would keep his glasses near the tip of his nose..what a coincidence, the same type I see here... Maybe all dentists do the same...just kidding sriniketan |
Posted 13th September 2008 at 01:03 AM by Sriniketan |
| | Hehe Sri ..:) I dont do that atleast !! Thank you for liking my idea ! |

| | dear preethi hey, nice idea. it takes time to talk to someone , but so nice u r willing to ans our queries without delay is it all right if my son, he's 15months, to cut teeth more on the upper side to start with...he got 2 on the lower side, after that he had 2 on the upper side, then 2 more on the upper side, and now after a gap of 2 months one which i think is a molar, there is a gap between the front and this one. the elder one got one after the other so i have no idea. thanx in advance. |

| | Dear Muzna ,I just love attending to any tooth related problems! But I am sorry I didnt really understand what you meant about your son .. What did you mean by " to cut teeth more on the upper side to start with " ?? Did you mean " get " ?? Well if so.. it is absolutely alright.. The upper and lower teeth ( center ones ) are always the first to erupt in the mouth ! Which one races the other is upto them ! Oh my God.. Dont they look awesome when they have just that 4 teeth !!! especially when they smile !! I know am deviating from the question.. but these kids .. they are soo lovable !! Uff... ![]() Coming to the gap.. when all the baby teeth erupts the gap would automatically close.. even if it doesnt dont worry.. his jaw must be bigger in size than his teeth and it will look perfect when his adult teeth arrives.. So right now do not worry about the gap and he will grow into an handsome fella when his adult teeth erupts.. Hope this is what you meant.. and I have answered your question.. Else write to me again.. Take care .. And yes dont forget to give him a kiss from my side !! |
