Did anyone watch the spelling bee finals last Friday? My heart went out to the kids who did not make it to the top. I have watched this for many years, but this is the first time I am watching it as a parent.

When I saw the disappointment in each kids eyes as they were turned away, my heart melted. These kids are good: may I add that I could only spell 1% of the words correctly?

To be so good and come so far and not reach the top - very sad. I was for a moment inclined...

I filled up my tank last Friday for an astounding $72.00. Today, my needle is edging towards the E on the meter.

How many times have we mommies been criticized publically for our parenting styles?

What? Still not potty trained? My baby started going on the potty when she was 2 weeks old (Okay, I am exaggerating, but this is a vent!)

What? Still sleeping in mommy's bed? My darling slept all alone from Day 1. (Exaggerated Diva version: My darling slept away from me even in-utero)

We all jump on celebrities when they do things that are even a smidget out of line. It must be very hard living a public life when every move of yours is scrutinized. Looking back at my life, if eveything I did was analyzed under a microscope by the random public, I would go crazy. We have to give some of them more credit in certain situations.

Let's look at Nicole Ritchie. She made us turn up our superior noses in disgust on many an occasion. But she has really turned herself around!...
