Child like Faith!!

In my institute we have grown ups and kids for training . We have a session called Faith in which all are supposed to stand in pairs and take turns in closing their eyes and leaning on their partner having the faith that they would be held.
Almost all the kids happily shut thier eyes and lean ,sure that they wont be let down .And almost all the grown ups are sure to open their eyes almost as soon as they shut it.
Watching the child like faith is awesome. They have implicit faith . Let me share a story with you:
In a village , the villagers faced severe drought. They decided to perform a puja to please the God of Rain. All the villagers were asked to gather at the temple premises early morning the next day. All the villagers turned up at 7 am. Among them was a small kid with an umbrella. The temple priest saw this and asked him why he was carrying an umbrella. The kid sweetly replied,"Now you will do the puja and we will all pray for rain and the it will start raining , I will get wet , so I got this umbrella".Such childlike pure faith. Even the priest who was to perform the puja didnt have faith in his abilitites , but this kid had faith in his prayers.
Child like faith is so beautiful to watch. 'Even with our children we are so amazed to see the blind child like implicit faith bestowed that we sometimes wonder would nt it be lovely to be like that that to become the cynics that most tend to grow up to be.

Devika

| | May be, that's why our elders used to say that whenever one takes food or medicine, they are supposed to take it with full faith that it is going to heal them. The child's mind is a clean slate that has not the write-ups of failures, skepticism, doubts and other negative, crippling thoughts. Faith is like a cane one needs to hold on to at all times. |

| | the childs mind is a clean state and the purtiy is so wonderful to see. Dear Devika, I have also read the story. Now the innocence and purity of child's mind is getting corrupted by the action of some grown ups. I really feel sad for them. Social evils and discriminations are making them corrupt. Love, PS |

| | Dear Devika nice write up so true that the pure mind of the child is being currupted now a days. I agree with what pushpa has written. These pure hearted kids, who is suppose to be full of innocence and honesty. Now a days when we speak to some of the kids u really get annoyed. It is so sweet of that child who has so much faith that after the prayes is over it is going to rain. |

| | Dear Pushpaji, I completely agree with the fact that the social evils and discriminations are making them corrupt. If only kids were kept out of it , we could see a fresh breed of selfless people in the universe. Love , Devika |

| | I agree .Sometimes when children remin pure and innocent they are really pushed around in this world and then as adults they learn to not trust. Its really hard to teach them to be street smart while telling them to trust others. |

| | Dear Smitha,Welcome to my blogs .I am really thrilled to see you reading my blogs! Yes children are sometimes forced out of their innocense.Yes in between our cynical selves its difficult to find the courage to ask children to trust wothout caution! Glad Smitha that you liked the blog on feelings too.Yes my daughter finds immense pleasure in meeting her grandparents there .infact this b'day too we were there on the 21st of June! Love, Devika |

| | A good inspiring one...Everyone should look towards the child with the umbrella and learn. Most elders start or even pray with skepticsm.....but a child will blindly follow and beleive what his parents says...agreed, we have to weigh the pros and cons...but faith must be there in whatever we do.. As said, their mind is clean and pure.. bye |
