Let us be candid !
Posted 20th April 2008 at 08:25 PM by Chitvish
We must first understand that our best self is an island within us. That is our source of power. To find the source, first we must believe in our own selves.
To believe in yourself is to accomplish your goal, to give, to take, to love, to be open.
Belief in oneself is the very root of one’s strength. It is the best endorsement you can give yourself.
Others’ believes do matter to us, but not if you do not believe in yourself.
In the past, our actions may have been resented by others and we may have been bitterly disappointed. But still, if we are here today at this stage of life, it is because we have belief in us.
Very often we accomplish some things successfully, much to our satisfaction. It does happen that it draws a less favourable comment from somebody else. Immediately we start worrying whether what we did was right at all ! This doubt should not arise, if we believe in ourselves and are happy with whatever we did, the way we wanted to.
Nobody can prevent you from being your own person. We must learn to take a risk and not be afraid of taking care of ourselves.
Our heart always gives us the truest answer. That is always the first answer the heart speaks. Follow what you love. That is our right direction as well.
When our intention is clear, the path opens up and we must just find that course.
Stay on it and believe in yourself. When you lose your direction, look inside and you will find it again.
I love the following quote, which I noted down as a young girl:
I open my heart and hear myself speaking the truth.
I open my heart and see myself finding my way.
Love,
Chithra.

| | Dear Chithra I have no clue how you manage to come up with these great topics.. You have written so beautifully about believing in oneself and the need to.. Words fail me here to adequately describe how well you have written! And the quote is a crown jewel.. Thanks for sharing.. "I open myheart and hear myself speaking the truth.. I open my heart and see myself finding the way." |

| | Dearest Chithra Ma'am, What a treat to get up in the morning and read your blog! A very patent topic for todays time and todays youth , while I see confidence dwindling away! Yes being candid to yourself is the best way to acknowledge the truth. For after all you can lie to the entire world but not to yourself. If you believe that you have the power in you then there is no stopping you in the world. Then the word impossible , doesnt exist. You know your capabilities. You have lived in you. Your know about yourself more than anything else in the world . You are your own creator as you can be your own destroyer. Man makes his own destiny. Its purely up to him to do so! He knows his potentials ,He knows his limitations, he can make ,he can mar.Infact thats the greatest power.Thats why we say in Man GOD resides. Because he too has a power in him but until he recognises the power its futile! I loved every word of your post Ma'am and especially the last lines. And you seem to be a role model to so many including me. Now we know Why Chithra Ma'am is who she is!! Love, Your Mol |

| | Dear AC, I hope it does not sound like my culture post! I am suddenly anxious if I have gone abstract!! Well, if so, that is me.I am candid, period!! We are forever bothered about others' reactions, forgetting our own feelings. That is what prompted me to write on this topic!! Love, Chithra. |

| | Ende Priyappatta Mole, Devika! Your FB is so good & supplements mine so beautifully. We never realise the power within us and unnecessarily compare ourself with others. It is upto us to release our dormant forces & see for ourself, how much we can achieve. We are unnecessarily sensitive at wrong moments & mar our own future. Only our heart can give us the right, truest answers. Love, Chithra. I am a little allergic to the word "role model" for certain reasons. Call me your close friend, I will be happy!! |

| | Dear Chith Again a great blog from you. I loved the quote. To be honest to oneself brings out the best in us. when we are true to ourself then others opinion does not bother us much. That helps us to bring the best in us. But these days people give least importance to hear themselves. Love Vidhi |

| | Dear Chithu, That is another superb topic from you. I have been privy to many people who will not do soemething for they are worried about what others will say? Then when do you live life on your terms and do the things that you enjoy? For this self-confidence and a mind to face bouquets and brckbats alike is necessary. You have rightly said that we buckle at the wrong moment and mar our future, i wouold like to add that only woemn seem to buckle andgive in eas;iy more than men do, correct me if Iam wrong. At no point after you have made a decision ( what you think is the best) should you wonder about it. You cannot always do , get what you want unless your goal is clear. This blog is sure to boost our morale and that too at the beginning of the week it's a welcome read!!!! |

| | Dear Vidhi, to what you write many would react "it is easily said than done" ! It needs a lot of inner conviction ti go just by what we think, rather know is right. If you are doing it, you are on the right path, Vidhs! Love, Chithra. |

| | Dear Indhu,, your reply just a few hours aftermy posting is a special "feel-good" factor for me!! Let me tell you, knowing you, you always go by what your heart gives you as the correct answer. You believe in yourself & I appreciate you for it. Love, Chith. |

| | Janani, your analysis is perfect. It isa very common for us to think "what will others (very often four people) say??". So long as you are true to your own heart, you need not worry. Thanks for the beautiful FB. Love, Chithu. |

| | Dear Chithra.. Monday mornings with your blog posts is a great way to start the week, I suppose :) Very nice post. I too believe that one has to be true to oneself first...be it about one's own strengths as well as limitations. With knowledge of strengths, one must move ahead in life full of confidence. With knowledge of limitations, one must know where to exercise caution and where one need not invest time and effort :) It is all about self-honesty. Thanks and love Pavithra |

| | Pavithra, you have made my Day, nay Monday! Whatever be the limitations, we do have innate strength as well ! We mut know how to bring out the best in us, whatever others think about us! Love, Chithra. |

| | Dear Superwoman I am with AC............How do you manage to write such wonderful topics........no wonder you are a superwoman............ It is very important to believe in oneself.................you can tell the whole world a lie and be dishonest but you cannot do it to yourself............... I open my heart and hear myself speaking the truth. I open my heart and see myself finding my way. these are the beautiful lines........ Thanks for sharing your treasures with us........... |

| | Dear, dear Aruna, I write more on life experiences, that we go through! Thats all. If I feel strongly about something, I express myself in a blog. When we are forced, at times, by circumstances to resist telling the truth, we do feel sad & bad about it. Once we come out, we are relieved & unburdened!! What I thought is an abstract topic is termed wonderful by you, much to my delight. Thanks, Aruna. Love, Chithra. |

| | Chithu mam, This post is closely related to your other post about growing up. Till we are children, we need other's opinion on rightness and wrongness of things we do. Once we are old enough to make life choices, the answers are found within us to all problems and all puzzles life gives us. Quite an inspiring post dear Chithu mam. The punch lines are worth remembering. PS - I write down nice lines whenever I read good books. I thought I was alone doing that. |

| | Dear ML, only shows we are similar! From my childhood, I loved to note down my favourite quotes & would go through them whenever I felt low!! But the interesting thing is, the same quote offers me different perceptions at different stages of life!! My most favourite ones are "The heights by great men reached & kept---------- night" & "The woods are lovely, dark & deep----sleep" Love, Chithra. |

| | Very motivating post! In this world, where finding honesty and transparency is getting harder, this writing reminds us to keep believing in ourselves to come through victoriously no matter what situations we face. |

| | Welcome, Ranganayaki to my blogs on...my twilight thoughts. I am happy to see youngsters enjoying such serious posts. Originally, I gave the title "Believe in yourself" to this blog and later changed it to the present one. Thanks for joining us here. Love, Chithra. |

| | Dear Mami, I am being very candid in saying you have touched our hearts with this apt topic. I agree with you, most of the time we lose in thinking what others will think of us rather than what we think of ourselves. We start losing confidence in ourselves by this exercise. All thru our life we start acting on how others think then where is time to act according to our wishes. Like the ad, where the child wants to swim and the parents say no, when he grows up and confronts his boss, he remembers his pregnant wife, when he wants to drive a costly car, he remembers his kids and finally at old age he jumps for a swim. Atlast he got the opportunity but Life always does not give us a second chance. Correct me if i am wrong. |
