Welcome to my space!
Join me in my maiden journey as a blogger (rather a rambler) and hope you all enjoy the trip along with me. As a novice, I am trying not to reflect any styles but accept my apologies if I do so inadvertently, dear friends. Thanks to Wiki for providing me with the apt title..Reminiscence Bump!

Come along....!
Are you an Ox? ....I am a Tiger!
What would you feel if you were a baby born at the stroke of midnight, as the Lunar New Year of Ox dawns. Well, I can hear you answering that "no matter what, I will continue to sleep and cry to be fed and what do I care if it is the year of Ox or Tiger".
But you wont give the same answer if you were a Chinese and look at the 2 Lunar New Year babies born at midnight, showered with media attention and gifts including cash of S$8888 and a Gold pated Ox worth S$398.(their lucky numbers, of course) Still are you saying you don't care? No?!
The ox is deemed as a symbol of resilience (how apt could the time be, with recession and all?).It is the second animal in the chinese zodiac.
What about the Ox people , I mean the people born in an Ox year, including the two newborns this year? Kind, caring, logical, positive and have their feet firmly on the ground. Now close your eyes and think of those with the above characteristics.
And Bull's eye! You got it right.
1. Barack Obama: I dont have anything to add as you all already will be fed up with the year long campaigning, then the victory news and now the news about him retaking the oath.
2. Michael Phelps (23): You all know him with the news flashes in the Olympics, who has won 16 Olympic medals altogether. Diagnosed with ADHD(Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), in his childhood and selected as USOC's sportsman of the year. Last week he has told the media that he would never again swim in eight events again,as he was hurting.
3. Artist Vincent Van Gogh: As I hear the name, I think of his self portrait with a bandaged ear which gives me goosebumps each time. It was said that he cut off his ear in desperation resulting from the departure of his lover /partner/associate Paul Guaguin. (I laughed out loud as I read a cheeky answer, " Due to Peer pressure", when I googled it) His works are mainly portraits, with vibrant colours and faces painted at odd angles and planes. I am also sad to know that he sold only one painting when he was alive while posthumously, one of his paintings was sold for $82.5 million.
4. Walter Elias Disney: The multiple Academy award winning director/producer etc and co founder of Walt Disney Company which generates, $35 billion a year. Who would not laugh at mickey and its antics, even today? I especially love the fantasia, a 1940's animated movie. The DVD (which was released in 2000) is the most often watched one by me and Abhi.
I should stop before I rattle the list of Ox people who are well known for their resilience.
Still you don't care about zodiac signs and human characteristics? Fine. Let us see who are born in Ox year among the ILites. I see that I finally got your interest.
2009,1997,1985,1973,1961,1949,1937,1925, 1913 1901-These are the OX years.Would be happy to hear from the OX ILites and ILites with OX loved Ones.
I end with "Gong Xi Fa Cai" to all dear ILites and let us all be resilient to sail through the tough times and wait for the Tiger Year coming next.
And yes, I am a Tiger! (The tiger people are predicted to be irresistible due to their magnetic characters, Tempestous and courageous yet soft and mysterious) Now tell me my dear friends, "Am I a true Tiger?"
