I take great pride & pleasure in starting a thread to wish you a very happy birthday tomorrow, on 29th April.
Taking care to turn only 28 every year is a very rare feat ! You have been accomplishing it successfully !

Now, with your articles on self-motivation appearing every Sunday in Varamalar, your popularity has soared in Madurai, as mentioned to me by my nephew. The student crowd in your lecture recently, was ample proof. Accolades thronging you in every sphere – pray God, becomes a regular feature in your life. It is no mean achievement & I rightly feel very proud of you, my close friend.
The grapevine tells me (you are yet to share with me, though!) that two more of your books will be released in the next few months.

We are generally human in our interactions, but you show that you are “humane”, which is an admirable quality in you, Sridhar. You have won the love & admiration of 6000 + I L ites.

Dear Chithra,

It may not be possible for me to thank you adequately for your kind wishes. But even that I can accomplish partially. But can never hope to express my gratitude for the cashew halwa, painstakingly prepared, beautifully photographed and sincerely couriered to me.

As you know I am on a kind of self-imposed food restrictions as my waistline and the inflation index in India have started to move in tandem. (Thank God my waistline is not hooked to the BSE or Nifty (stock indices) or the real estate prices in Chennai)

But your halwa made me to throw all caution to winds. I could keep my hands away from it for the whole of yesterday. But this morning I took the plunge and finished most of it. Thanks is not the word. And the bonus sweet athirasam, a traditional sweet here in Madurai tasted no less good.

Thanks for remembering my age. Unlike my waist line my age is a mathematical constant - 28. Like the great Rama, who followed the principles Okka Bana, Okka Matta and Okka Pathni - One Arrow, one word and one wife, I dont tell one age this year and another next. I stick on to the same 28, year after after year.

Jokes apart, I thank you from the depths of my heart, my dear friend. To be wished by such a friend on my birthday in itself is a blessing. And as I told in Cheeniyas wish thread, that's again a blessing conferred on me by God's mercy. Thanks for your wishes, 'Sarvabeeshta siddirasthu." May all your thoughts be fulfilled. I add my prayer to it, may all the thoughts that rise in me be noble ones.

One book of mine is likely to come by end July August. This book will contain the 20 articles published in Dinamalar plus 35 articles written by me. But it is still in fluid stage. Another book on religion is still under consideration.

My father told me that some day an unspecified number of years ago, he, his sister and brother in law had gone into the city to witness Meenakshi Dig Vijayam. As they returned after seeing the Madurai queen, they were surprised to see a telegraph man who was waiting for them. He handed over a telegram which announced the birth of yours truly. Like our Queen I also made a Dig Vijayam on that day. Every time my b'day coincides with one or the other event of the festival. Incidentally the whole of Madurai is wearing a festival look now.

Dear ILites, You had the viewing pleasure. But I had the eating pleasure too. It tastes out of the world. Be sure to take down the recipe fast.
