My Birth Story

Hi all ,

Thanks very much for all your wishes.Feels great to see all the messages.I did not get much time to post my birth story just got the chance today so here it goes.

My due date was 4th,April and i finished work on the 21st and on the 22nd,saturday when i woke up at 7.30 went to the toilet and saw some blood stained mucus .Got the feeling that something is going to happen but was in for some surprise as straightaway in 10 mins or so i started getting contractions.Woke my husband and told my mom .Had a shower and rang the hospital they asked me to come in when they 5 mins apart and lasts atleast for 40 seconds.I somehow managed till 10.30 and then finally left for the hospital .was checked and the midwife said still not in labour but cervix is quiet favorable .was examined again after 1 hr and to my surprise i was 3 cm dilated.The pains were coming very sharp and were very frequent.Could not bear it and asked for Epidural .Doctor arrived after 15 mins and once epidural was administered everything was fine.Checked again at 3.30 and full 10 cms dilated started pushing and baby arrived safely at 5.05 pm weighing 3.36 kgs.Got 2 stiches but was fine and the baby was straightaway given to me but then there was panic situation as suddenly i lost consciousness and suffered PPH lost about 800mls of blood.Everybody was called in to the theatre and i got more attention than my poor baby .Atleast everything was okay after half and hr.Baby is doing fine i am still tired but getting better.Things will be better after some weeks i know.I am enjoying every moment with the baby and my daughter is so excited about her little brother.We have decided to name him Sanchit .

thanx for sharing the story....hearing other's experiences will sure be reassuring for all those who are soon to be moms and those yet to be blessed with motherhood...am sure it'll help all the apprehensions and fears that comes with the joy of looking forward to that wonderful experience...

Thanks for posting the birth story...Reading such stories helps me prepare for my big day! Does it pain too much when they do episiotomy? Do u feel it? And did you feel them stitching it up? oh..i am getting jittery...

Thanks everyone for all your Wishes.Both of us are doing very well.He is a good boy but does not have a sound sleep which makes me very tired .Otherwise everything is going on well.
