Rajgir Dance Festival

Rajgir Dance Festival is organized every year in the last week of October. It is organized by the Department of Tourism, Bihar. It lasts for three days.

The venue of this festival is Rajgir, which is the ancient capital of the Magadhan Empire of Bihar. Jains and Buddhists consider Rajgir to be an auspicious site because of its connesction with Lord Mahavira and Lord Buddha.

Rajgir is also a very popular tourist spot. Rajgir Dance Festival is also known as Rajgir Mahotsav. This dance and music festival attracts renowned artists from far and wide. The festival features diverse kinds of music and dance performances.

The Rajgir Dance Festival features various types of music as well as dance performances such as ballet, instrumental music, folk dance, devotional songs and different forms of classical music and dance. For admirers of Indian classical music and dance, Rajgir Dance Festival is the place to be.

Some eminent artists who have performed in this festival are Sanyukta Panigrahi, Anand Shankar, Hema Malini, Sonal Mansingh, Amita Dutta, Leela Samson, Madhumita Roy, Madhavi Mudgal, Madhukar Anand, Nalini-Kamalini, Shovna Narayan, Mukund Nayak and Swapna Sundari.
