dear chandana,

There are quiet a number of hotels near city station.Actually malleswaram is max 10 min from city station.MG road is also not so far from station.

If you can find a hotel near city station, it will be easy for you to go to both MG road and malleswaram.

There are 2 hotels near malleswaram , near the city station.

Basil hotel--3 star.
Hotel swathi--i do not know much about this hotel.

Hi Chandhana,

As Kamala suggested , Basil is good though i feel Swathi might be too crowded. Frankly, i hv heard that the traffic + crowd has turned absurd these days in B'lore.

There are a couple of KSTDC ( state run ) coaches that take you round the city. You could check with the KSTDC counters for more info. They also have similar coaches that are operated to many other tourist cities in the state.

About shopping, if you are looking for Indian part/casual wear for u'rself and daughter , head to Commercial Street which is quite close to MG Rd.
You have plety options there. DCM will be reasonable + stcks good collections. Try the adjacent lanes( or Ibrahim Strt ) for good collection for your daughter. I used to shop for my 4+ yr old niece in those small lanes.
If you are looking for western outfits, you'll find some on Commercial St but i suggest head to Forum / Central / Garuda for better / branded options.

Letz c what others have to key in. Hope you enjoy your stay in B'lore.

Happy Holidays!

Hi Chandana,

There are quite a few hotels in Church Road,(this is parallel road to MG Road) but I guess they cost you more. If you are looking for economical hotels SWATHI(This is one bus stop away from city central) is good.

The distance between
City JN to MG road is hardly 4 KM
Malleshwaram to MG road is 8 KM
So you should be able to commute in 10 -15 min on a average traffic day from Malleshwaram to MG road .

As far as sight seeing is concerned, I would suggest take KDTDC daily tour package as it is hassle free. :: KARNATAKA HOLIDAYS ::

As far as shopping is concerned you can do them in Malleshwaram itself and of course Commercial street.

Dear chandana,

Sorry i saw your post only now.I have shopping experiences in forum, shopper stop, bangalore central etc.

shopper's stop you will get good stuffs.but the cost is on the higher side.Definitely you will find very attractive stuffs there and you will get branded items there.

You can go to commercial street. This is very famous for party wear shopping. If you are not particular about the cost, you will definitely find some good stuffs both for you and your daughter.

In malleswaram, there recently opened 2 shops, kalaniketan and kalamandir. These two are good for party wear(indian) shopping.

Hope this helps.Have a great time in India.
