Hi Viji,

It is common in many children who are new to playschool. Mostly if he/she is the only child. Many kids mingle as soon as they get used to the new environment.

To help her more, have a talk with her teacher/nanny in the play school and inform them about your concerns. They would have came across such situations and would be better equipped to handle them.

Hi Viji

My sis daughter when she was 2 yrs old went to play school but she cried a lot on her first day n second day, u please ask her teachers beforehand and tell them that u will stay with her in the class for first 1/2 hr with her...she will be more comfortable with u on the first day...

And don't worry about the reserved nature, in no time she will adjust n will learn how to share n mingle with friends nicely...play school programs r well designed to teach children everything...

Hope this helps...

Skavi

hi Viji
hows ur kid doing now? i have the same problem. my kid is so attached to her grandparents that its very difficult to bring her out of her shell. she is in a play group for about 3 months now (of course with regular day offs due to infections and other stuff) and even today she cried when going to school. she got adjusted earlier, but this kind of a long holidays make her behave like this. i am kind of worried if shez like this. her development is hindered for so many such reasons.
is ur kid improving now?
