It’s a month since my lil one stepped into this world. Here’s his birth story.
There was always confusion with my EDD as each scan would give me a new date. The final scan gave me an EDD of Oct 22<sup>nd</sup>. On 15<sup>th</sup> Oct i visited my gyn for my weekly review. She informed me that as the baby was on the bigger side (he weighed 3.6 kgs) it would be a C section. She had asked me to fix a date and get admitted accordingly. On coming home we all had a discussion and decided to schedule the C section on Oct 20<sup>th </sup>and informed my gyn the same. We planned to visit our family temple before 20<sup>th</sup>.
On the morning of 17<sup>th</sup> Oct I started feeling off color. By noon i started getting a cramp like feeling. My parents and dh thought as i was disappointed with the decision of C section was imagining a false labor. Also it was Vijayadasami and i had eaten a lot of sweets. So the family just assumed that i was having a bad stomach. Initially the cramps showed up once in 10 mins. To divert my mind my dad suggested that i watch tv. My lil bro being a big vijay fan was watching kuruvi on kalaignar tv. I had no other choice other than watching it. The pain now started showing up in an interval of 5 mins. By 6 in the evening we all decided it’s time we rush to the hospital as i couldn’t tolerate it anymore. On reaching the hospital my gyn examined me and said that the baby was in occipito posterior position and was in distress. I was immediately taken into the operation theatre for the surgery.
I was extremely tensed and no matter how much the docs tried they couldn’t calm me. The anaesthetist had a tough time in injecting the spinal shot. Somehow i calmed down after few mins. I opened my eyes only when i heard his cry. The paed asked me whether it was a boy or a girl. I confidently replied that it was a boy and yes i was right. When i was taken out i was expecting to meet my dh and parents. But to my utter dismay all of them were surrounding my lil one and dint show me any attention. Later my mom joined me and said that sonny was an exact replica of me. I have no words to describe how i really felt when he was brought to me. I was still amazed that it happened so fast and that i have actually made life. My parents were the happiest. Dad was thrilled that his lil one now is a mommy. Dh was trying to hide his disappointment that he dint inherit any of his features. LOL.
I want to thank God for this wonderful blessing. Wish God blesses lil Kaushall with good health and wisdom. Also want to thank my mom, without whom i wouldn’t have managed a thing. I am also grateful to the staff of Padma Nursing home and my gyn Dr.Cynthia Alexander. They took care of me well and were very supportive throughout.

Hi. GC.

I am happy to have read this first and giving by fb. Becos I went thro the same situation. My DD was 3.8 kgs and I was also advised to come prepared for C section. But by the time the decided date came I think, God had heard mine & DH's prayers, I had a normal delivery (2nd one - first one being a son).

I was so overwhelmed with joy and could not express my words. I too felt profusely thankful towards the staff for they were so nice to me.
