As a toddler's mom, the most stressful time of the day for me is when I am trying to feed my kid and he has zip, zero, zilch interest in that. I am sure most other moms would share the same plight. As mothers, feeding our kids right and well is the most important thing for us.

I am starting this thread to share the problem with mothers like me and to derive motivation and learn from mothers who do not have this problem...!

To start, yesterday I took my kid to zoo and could feed rasam rice effortlessly while he was watching a peacock curiously. Dinner was yogurt rice and potato kari ( courtesy blinking lights demonstrated by my husband ) topped with vanilla ice-cream. However, for breakfast, he wouldn't have anything other than a handful of the cereal we had( honey bunch of oats )

    Hi gayathri,

Nice thread you have started. I have 3 + son and he also is too playful and not interested in food at all. Well today this is what he had:
    breakfast: carrot dosai with molagaipodi
lunch: grilled cheese sandwhich and a banana
dinner: some veg noodles and fresh thayir.

    Hi Vandhana

Hope you are having a great vacation...!

Carrot Dosai - looks like you are really inventive. Well, what else can we expect from a nutritionist like you :-D

Does your 3 old have molagaipodi? Do you make it less hot for him???

Gayathri, don't worry about milagaipodi. My son who is now 4 1/2 is an ardent fan of this milagaipodi. He has been having that from when he was 2.This is how I make it at home:

    Idli Podi

    1 cup Sesame seeds
    1 cup Chana dhal
    1 cup Urad dhal
    1 cup red chillies(15 chillies)
    1 ½ tsp salt
    ½ tsp Asafoetida(hing)

Roast everything except salt and hing separately and grind fine. When grinding, grind everything, lastly add sesame seeds and grind .This is not at all spicy.

    Hi all moms!

I am delighted to see this thread! Its so painful to see my 1n 1/2 yr daughter just refusing the plate of food that i prepare so painstakingly for her. Yes knowing what other kids are eating really gives some inspiration as well as lot of different ideas.

    For her it was :

    B`fast - a small bowl of cereals
    Lunch - Khicdi with yogurt
Dinner - rice with carrot sabzi n yogurt (that is must for her. Without it its impossible to feed her).

    this is an interesting thread

i gave mini idli as brk fast for my son
he likes curd rice very much but its banned for him as per doctor's advice as he catches cold easily
sometimes i make mini dosa, he likes that very much

"anything colorful, and in mini sizes are hot favourites of today's kids"

    Hi Gayathri,

Yes my little toddler will eat the regular molagapodi. and he likes it with Nalla ennai only . No ghee for him!!.

Today was just toast and jam for breakfast, veg cutlets and plain thayir for lunch and dinner is going to be pav bhaji.

You see my 3 year old will not eat rice. so i have to get the carbs into him in other forms!!

Aloo puri, mini tiffins, kichdi with curd sound very interesting...! I make Mini idli and dosa, but the rest I should try.

I fed( tried to ) the following yesterday:

Breakfast: bread toast with ghee and strawberry jam cut into bite size pieces.
Lunch: Rasam rice, cauliflower sabzi flavoured with ajwain and jeera
Dinner: Wheat porridge( kanji ) and one tablespoon vanilla ice-cream.

These food ideas are great( specifically veg cutlets and plain thayir ) and I have not even thought of them. I usually go for conventional food and feel very upset if mine does not eat the curd rice. Way to go Vandhana!!!
