Egg pudding...

2 glass milk
1 egg
little vanilla essence ( or cardamon powder)
sugar for taste

boil the milk to 1 glass or even lesser to that...
beat the egg nicely... once the milk is warm add beaten egg, vanilla essence, sugar... steam it in the pressure cooker... (like how u prepare idli)

Hey Raj,

You can add warm water to the freshly grated coconut, whiz it in spice grinder and squeeze out the milk. Since we need only small quantity for LO's it's not a tedious thing. I read in some mag that other than mother's milk only coconut milk has high lauric acid content that is responsible for building and maintaining the body's immune system.

Default Pasta with herb butter

My son likes pasta with plain butter. I make it better by adding herbs to the butter. Esp for gnocchi and any stuffed pasta it's a good sauce.

Melt butter in a saucepan, season with pepper and salt and add rosemary or sage or any fresh herb you have on hand. Then toss in the cooked pasta. Sprinkle grated parmesan over. I don't know if it'll taste the same with dried herb... haven't tried.

hmm, interesting Latha. I'll try extracting coconut milk the way you said. Thanks!

And thanks for the buttered pasta recipe, too. I use dried herbs a lot (except for cilantro) since fresh herbs are expensive in winters. The only thing to keep in mind with dried herbs is that you should use only half the quantity.

Raj

Chicken soup

1/2 onion
1/2 tomato
1/2 ginger garlic paste
1/2 spoon cumin powder
1/2 spoon coriander powder
pinch of turmeric powder
2 piece of chicken wings with skin ( this portion gives the taste for soup)
pepper and salt to taste

Just mix all this ingredient with 2 glass of water... keep it in the pressure cooker give 4-5 whistle...

after that just boil it for a min ... filter it and give the stock so that kids will like... give the soup alone ...or add it with white rice, you can even give this with dosai, idli etc...

Great recipes all !!

Try this one some time..

Veg Soup

1tbsp of olive oil

Saute garlic and Onion

Add all veg u like .. I add Brocoli, Cauliflower, peas, carrots etc..

Add beans like chickpeas, rajma beans etc.

Add 1 can of diced tomatoes

Add 2 cans of Chicken broth ( u can use veg broth also)

Add salt & pepper

Pressure cook for 1 or 2 whistles.

Mash for required consistency.

I mostly use the frozen veg for this.. so this is a real quick yummy soup which whole family loves.

Vahee - excellent idea - made it yesterday and Aadhu loved it! Only thing is I had to make it thicker than usual as it was very crumbly otherwise.

Sindhu - long-due thanks for the pancake recipe. its a regular at our house now ...

Vanathi.
