I just steam it and then blend it and give him. The same procedure i do for apples, pears, peach, carrots and other veggies too! Havent tried beans so far, thinking of giving him beans too!

I bake peaches,I cut them into two halves and place the cut side in baking pan with 1inch of water and bake it at 400F till the top skin shrinks.Let it cool down, take the peaches out remove the skin and puree it,do not add water as the fruit is already soft and it comes to the right consistency.Pears just steam it with minimum water as possible,I remove the water used for steaming and use it as juice for my LO and puree the fruit alone.Same way steam the veg with minimum water and remove all the water before pureeing and only use the steamed water as required for puree.

I do the same with Pears, haven't baked peaches yet, I need to try Priya's idea of baking it. Peas, I just steam them whole and give it to Riya as finger food. She loves them. I haven't given her beans yet, either.

Since Riya is 8 months old I don't blend her food anymore, I mash them so she gets used to the texture of the food she's eating.

Is it okay to introduce chick peas and rajma (kidney beans) to Riya? I want to introduce some variety of legumes in her diet so I was wondering if it is okay to give her these two kinds of beans.

Hi Raj..Have you introduced toor and moong dal?If so you can proceed. Before feeding just de-husk it..cook super soft in pressure cooker..I would say you can wait for rajma..for few more months..

My other options would be black eyed bean..which is easily digestible than these 2..

Hi Supriya, yes, I have already introduced toor and moong dal. I'll have to get some black eyed bean. What is the right age to introduce the other two beans though?
