    Hello all,

Could anyone suggest any tips/ideas to increase baby's appetite naturally.

My toddler is a very picky eater & its very very rare that she'll say she is hungry.

She is 3.2 yrs old & her weight is stagnant since quite some months i.e. 12 kgs.

Any advice on this would be great.

    Hi daffodil,

I am sorry i have no idea on how increase the appetite for a toddler but i just wanted to add that more or less all the toddlers are picky eaters.

So i would just offer variety of foods and then leave on them to decide how much they would eat.

But if weight gain is concern then you should consult with your paedratician... normally they suggest to given iron/vitamins supplements if you are worried that your kid is not eating enough..

also get your dd checked for stomach worms... very often they wont gain weight if there are worms in tummy...

    hope it helps..

    tc,
    manpreet

    Hi Manpreet,

I would appreciate few ideas from you regarding the variety of food you offer your child.. since both M's are around the same age..

Dr. Kaur did prescribe Kidicare as a multivitamin & supplement.. but it wasn't of much help.:confused2:
We had her checked as well for worms.. but thankfully none.
You've amost reached 50 posts... Way to go.....:cheers
Advance Congrats on achieving this milestone.:party

How about pediasure? try that for weight gain.

Add small amounts of ghee/butter in her food.

Make sure there is some gap between each meal and let her play more so that she will be hungry.

Chocolate milk/unsweetened cocoa along with milk. Cocoa is good for everyone in small amount. (For it is a good anti-depressant too)

Give her all kinds of table food that you eat regularly. (Do a little bit 'marketing' for the food by eating it yourself and show her) :)

If I get to know about anything to improve appetite, I will let you know.

Does she like cashew nuts, ground nuts etc?

    hi
My daughter is 2.2 years old. Even her weight is constant for many months. :hide:
She is a pricky eater. Never like to eat and she gets bored. I have started to take her out for play and used to feed her while playing. Before dinner , she plays well so she sits for food automatically. I think you too can follow the same for your kid.

    Hi cheerful,

    Thanks for your ideas.

I shall check with my doc for pediasure.. did you ever use it for your toddler?

Oh yes.. can try ading ghee to her diet.

She usually has just 4 meals i.e. breakfast, lunch, evening snack & dinner.. nothing in between..I guess the intervals are long enough but suprisingly she never asks me for food.

She does occassionaly have cashewnuts.. does it have any relation to her appetite/weight gain.
    Haven't tried groundnuts so far..

    Dear marikeerthi

Pediasure is a good choice for pickyeaters. I was using it for my son for about a year and he did gain weight. But slowly he wanted to tryout new foods so i stopped Pediasure as it is very heavy food and he was feeling full always.....slowly he started to have the regular food like rice and all tiffin varities...

    bye
    kapuchu
