| Hi, Many kids are picky eaters. My son is also a picky eater. If you make every meal a food struggle you are bound to lose. And beating or using bad words is an absolute no-no. If you beat him it will make things worse. And kids at this age pick up a lot of words very quickly. So he will pick up the bad words in no time. Once I stopped making every meal a power struggle my sons eating habits improved. Pretend you don't care how much he eats. Try to create a positive eating environment. Allow your child to play with food. My son sometimes eats a poor breakfast but compensates another meal. I let him decide how much he wants to eat. And I usually give him 2-3 simple dishes and let him pick what he wants. The key is to give them nutritionally dense food as possible. And try to different things. Here is a great thread on What did you feed your kid today? Also read this article on feeding picky eaters. FEEDING TODDLERS: 17 TIPS FOR PLEASING THE PICKY EATER I hope this helps. Thanks, kavya. |
