Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients:
2 slice – bread,1 – tomato,1/4 – onion,1 tsp – oil,grated cheese,powdered pepper
salt to taste


Method:

Take a pan with one tsp oil.
  1. Fry onion till it turns golden brown.
  2. Take slice of bread; put a layer of fried onion on it.
  3. Later put the layer of cheese, tomato, salt and pepper powder.
  4. Place the layer of bread on it.
  5. Place the layers in the sandwich maker and close it.
  6. When ready then serve the sandwich with tomato sauce.
  7. If you do not have a sandwich maker then place the sandwich layer prepared in the above manner in step 1, 2 and 3 and place it in a hot pan with melted butter on it.
  8. When one side turns golden brown, then turn the sandwich.
  9. Wait till the other side turns golden brown.

Fried Egg Sandwich

Ingredients:
2 eggs, beaten,1 tbsp butter,1/4 cup capsicum, chopped finely,1/4 cup boiled peas
1/4 cup chopped and boiled French beans,Salt as per taste
1/2 tsp black pepper powder,1/4 tsp garlic paste,2 tbsp mayonnaise
4 bread slices, toasted and buttered

Method:
Heat butter in a pan
Put eggs, stir well
Add all the vegetables ,Add salt, pepper powder and garlic paste
Stir continuously till egg is cooked (consistency should be thick)
Spread mayonnaise on two slices of bread (evenly)
Layer with egg mixture (evenly on two breads)
Cover with remaining two slices of bread

Fried Idly & Mushroom
Ingredients:

Idly - 12 ,onion, medium sized – 1,tomato – 1,ginger & garlic paste - 1 tsp
coriander powder - 2 tsp,cumin powder - 1 tsp,turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
garam masala powder -1 tsp,mushroom (any type preferably button) - 1 cup chopped
mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, cauliflower, green pepper, beans, potato) - 1 cup
oil - 2 tsp,salt to taste

Method:
  1. Cut each idly into 9-10 pieces and deep fry it in oil or roast it in oven.
  2. In a pan, pour 2 tsp oil and once it is heated add ginger & garlic paste fry it for a minute.
  3. Then add chopped onions and fry it till it is translucent.
  4. Then add tomato and fry it for a minute.
  5. Now add all the powders and fry for 2 minutes.
  6. Now add mushrooms and fry it mushroom is cooked.
Finally add the fried Idlies and fry it for 2-3 mins until idlies get all the flavors.

MUSHROOM AND PEA PARATHAS

Ingredients
2 cups whole wheat flour, 1/3 cup mushrooms finely chopped, 4 tbsp crushed paneer
4 tablespoons green peas, finely boiled and mashed, 3 teaspoons green chilies, chopped
1 teaspoon ginger, grated, 1/4 cup fresh curds, salt to taste, oil for cooking

Method
1. Combine the wheat flour, mushrooms, paneer, peas, green chillies, ginger, curds, salt and enough water and knead into soft dough.
2. Divide the dough into 5 equal parts.
3. Roll out each portion on a floured surface into a 125 mm. (5") diameter circle.
4. Cook each paratha on a hot tava (griddle); using a little oil until both sides are golden brown.
Serve hot.

Hi all,
I found this thread good and helpful for mom like us breaking our heads what to make for lunch box.I will give one recipe,

Chappathi roll

Make chappatis
Make egg ommelette
Make potato curry [dry]
Then place chappati , next ommelette and then put little potato curry inside and then roll the chappathi. It is ready .

Vegetable Rolls
Ingredients
For the Dough:
Maida 1 cup (240 ml)
Wheat Flour 1 cup (240 ml)
Water required Quantity
Salt 1/2 teaspoon
Butter 1/2 teaspoon.
For the Stuffing:
One Potato chopped
One Carrot Chopped
1/2 Bell Pepper Chopped
One Medium size Onion Chopped
Ginger-Garlic Paste-1/2 teaspoon
Chili Powder -1/2 teaspoon
Garam Masala - 1/2 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Oil
Method:
  1. Make the dough by mixing the maida, Wheat flour, salt and Butter by adding the required quantity of water.
  2. Heat a kadai with a little oil and put the Ginger-Garlic paste in it and fry for a few seconds. Then add the Onions and fry them for a little while.
  3. Add the chopped potatoes, carrots and the Bell peppers to it. Put the salt to it and chilli powder to it.
  4. After the vegetables are done add the garam masala and simmer for 5-10 minutes. And let it cool then.
  5. Make the dough into small balls and roll them into round thin layers. In each layer place a little curry in it. Fold like a Envelope and seal the edges with a little water.
  6. Heat a tava and put half teaspoon oil in it. Place 2 rolls at a time and make fry them until golden brown. You may use ghee instead of oil.
  7. Serve the rolls with Mint Chutney or Tomato Sauce.
