    Poonam,
Upma or Rice pongal would be great for infants. They will be smooth aswell. Or you can have payasam with samiya.

    rava or sooji upma preparation
fry rava in ghee for few mins and keep it aside.
boil water in a pan. when u see the bubbles put rava in it and stir it well.
add little salt and milk(if u prefer).stir it until rava is cooked well.

this is how i do upma for my DS. hope it will be useful for u.

    Hi Poonam,

My LO likes Oats with fruits.
Boil water and add a diced apple or pear in it. Let it cook for 5 mins and then add the oats. Cool it down and puree it. Sometimes I add 'Sattu mavu' (made by mil) after the oats and let it cook for 2 mins before pureeing. LO loves it as it is sweet due to the fruits.

You can also start with the egg white now, pongal like priya mommy suggested also works with mine.

    regards,

    Poonam,
Fry Sooji rava or Bombay Rava with little ghee in a pan and keep aside.
Add one T-spoon ghee to the pan, add tampering like mustard, jeera(little) and curry leaves.
Add water(1:3 ratio) and bring it to boil.
Add little salt, after a while add fried rava to it.
Just stir properly without lumps and keep it aside. Then feed to Z.
    Kids love it.

    Rice pongal/Rava pongal:
Fry Moong dal and rice and make it to powder in mixie.
Add this powder(1 spoon or 2 spoons)to boiling water and get it boiled.
Add little salt and ghee to it.
Either you can add tampering or just leave it aside and feed Z.

    They are very healthy.
You can also give Ragi porridge as breakfast.

    Pooh,
    1) Ragi oothapam, with curd/apple sauce/milk

Receipe is here. Instead of chillipowder, i add little pepper powder/jeera powder/coriander powder for flavour. Precooked, mashed potatos are added to this, i would add any other veggie puree to this.
Cook in low flame, covered. Oil/ghee can be added while cooking the pancakes. Both my kids love this :)

    2) Oats oothapam/dosa, with curd/apple sauce/veg clear soup

Receipe - 2tbsp oats, 2 tsp rice flour (you can use home-powdered brown rice too, to enhance nutrition), 2 tsp sooji, minced or slightly blended onions, 2 tsp curd, salt, jeera powder/coriander powder
Alternate taste - jaggery syrup + cinnamon powder. Make small thick pancakes, cook in low flame, covered.

    3) Wheat dosa, with butter/ghee/cheese

2tbsp wheat flour, salt, pinch of jeera powder, make dosa, with little oil. Cook covered both sides. This has a chewy texture, serve with butter/ghee/cheese/milk dips.

    4) Wheat chapathi/roti - soaked in milk/baby rasam/soup

Make chapathi as usual, soak it in milk or rasam or soup, serve them tiny pieces.

    5) Veg paratha - with dhal dips

Diced carrots, peas, beans, potato, onion, Jeera, coriander leaves - 1tsp each, saute in butter, cook with water and mash/mince them together. 3tbsp wheat flour, add the veggie mix, slowly add little water/milk, make a dough, set aside for 1/2 hr. Make parathas, cook both sides with oil. Serve with dhal dips or pre-soak in dhal. This is an all in one dish, very healthy and filling too. Both kids eat this, take a bowl of curd and sleep really well on Sat mornings :)
