Default Sampradaya Chikitsa

Deal all

Sampradaya chikitsa is a mixture of ayurveda, yoga and naturopathy. In sampradayachikitsa the time plays a vital part. Most of the Vaidyans prefer to avoid Rahukalam for the 1st drops.

Another interesting factor in sampradaya chikitsa is the medicines can be empowered by chanting mantras. Eg. Swaraswa gritham Ghee is used for good memory and excellent communication skills used to empower by chanting "Swaraswatha ashtakam"

Arya vaidyasala Kottackal and Thaikattu moos are most popular in Sampradaya chikitsa.

Share your views and thoughts questions about treatment and remedies..

Hi preia

I am not an ayurveda doctor. I am working with an ayurveda hospital for last 4 years. In an academic interest i have started learning ayurveda and i found that an integrated treatment with yoga meditation, ayurveda is more effective. Then I found sampradaya chikitsa a different version of ayurveda [ not yet commercialised] empowering medicines [even water] by chanting mantras [ The vibarent effect of mantra is scientifically proved recently]

There are 3 types of prakruties [constitutions] according to ayurveda viz. Vata pitta and kapha. A cough medicne for vata body ma not be effective for pitta or kapha type. So the treatment will be fixed according to the type of constitution which is calculated by the body mass index.

Of course you can confidently share your problems and i am happy to share my knowledge with you.

wishing you all ayur arogya sowkiam [ healthy wealthy longer life]

"Panchakarma"As the name suggests, Pancha in Sanskrit stands for Five and Karma are the therapeutic measures, therefore Panchakarma means five types of therapeutic measures. These are undertaken for the purification of the body and Ayurveda considers it necessary before the start of any other therapy. The logic being that as a cloth needs to be purified or cleaned of impurities and dust before it can be permeated with a new color, similarly the body needs to be purified before it can be permeated with new colors of youthfulness, health and vigor etc. In fact, most of the time, Panchakarma is an end in itself rather than a prelude to other therapeutic measures.

The Panchakarma therapy of Ayurveda is comprised of five basic types of advanced treatment for the evacuation of vitiated Dosha (toxic materials) from the body. One can consider this as a body de-tox program. There are so many subtypes of this therapy and different types of herbal massages, fomentation's such as steam, external oil treatments, Basti (medicated enemas), Virechana (purgation through herbs), Vamana (emesis through herbs), Nasya (nasal administration of oils) etc. are also incorporated. These practices are extremely helpful in relieving deep seated diseases as well as being beneficial for maintaining and improving physical and mental health.

In sampradaya chikitsa ,treatment for obesity or weight reduction varies patient to patient depends upon their prakruties [ constitution] gender, etc. Moreover details of patient viz height, weight, age, gender, food habits , nature of present job etc also needed for suggesting treatments.

Normal weight reduction needs to follow minimum 21 days ayurveda diet & life style.

Control Piles - Drinking one tablespoon of small-onion juice twice a day before food helps to control bleeding piles.

Anemia

Add a teaspoon of turmeric to a cup of plain yogurt. Eat this mixture on an empty stomach in the morning or afternoon.

Daily have one beetroot in your salads.

Jaggery is good source of iron so daily add jaggery in your meals.

Principles of Ayurveda

According to ayurvedic philosophy an individual bundle of `spirit’, desirious of expressing itself, uses subjective consciousness or Satwa to manifest sense organs and a mind. Spirit and mind then project themselves into a physical body, created from the five (Pancha) great (maha) eternal elements (bhutas) – together called the Panchamahabhutas – which arise from Tamas. The sense organs then using Rajas to project from the body into the external world to experience their objects. The body becoming the mind’s vehicle, its physical instrument for sense gratification.

The Bhutas combine into "tridoshas" or bioenergetic forces that govern and determine our health or physical condition. While the three gunas (Rajas or activity, Tamas or inertia and Satwa, which balances the first two) or psychic forces determine our mental and spiritual health. Ayurveda is thus a holistic system of health care that teaches us to balance these energies in order to achieve optimum health and well being.
