Hi Nimmi,
Collection of phlegm, overfeeding, r not chewing while eating(kids tend to do that as they wanna hurry out n play) may result in vomitting after eating. Does this happen every other day r is that less frequent? Some times deepfried foods tend to produce vomitting in younger kids.
Anyways all of these can be controlled with few lifestyle changes.
1. Dry roast a tsp of pepper, jeera, n thippili(long pepper) n chukku(dried ginger) seperately n powder them. mix a pinch of this with honey(its spicy so amke sure u add lots of honey) n apply on tongue.(do this if they did vomit today twice after some light snack)
2. Avoid deep fried food and amke sure they eat a reasonable portion of veggies n fruits in everyday meal.
3. Always give them boiled n cooled water to drink. If the temperature is cold outside make sure they drink only warm water.
4. Teach them to gargle after every meal n snack n insist on brushing before bedtime too as it ll keep oral n throat infections to a minimum.
5. Avoid store bought snacks like fries, chips n othhers n go for healthier options. (i know this can be tough but u gotta try).
6. Continue giving arishtams . Also include the ashwagandhi lehiyam or chyawanpraash to increase their appetite.
7. Yes. U certainly canuse honey instead of sugar in milk and anything(as topping on desserts, biscuits). It sure ll promote weight gain n build immunity.
8. Paneer s good for kids. Make sure they are fresh. Include them 2 or three times a week .
9. In my opinion if kids get balanced diet and do not have any other issues, leave them in their own element and they ll put on weight.
Regards,
CC

Hi Nimmisrinath,
Home made paneer is good. Almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, raisins, dates, even pistachios are better than cashews and peanuts in nutritional value. But cashews n peanuts can be had occasionally too.

CC | Hi Dr. Charu,
I have always wanted to ask you one question, and that is 'I am always eating right ,doing all the house work, keeping active, and still come in obese category.' I do not want to go on crash diets and with my responsibilities have very little inclination to cook oil free just for myself. I have heel spurs and acidity. My dr. says its due to my weight. I personally do not think I am over eating, and being middle aged I cannot jump on my tread mill in the evening and walk for 20 minutes. I do walk 10 minutes sometimes.
